I wanted to give a 2.5 because it is just under a 3 star. Ordered a lahmacun (Turkish pizza) and was quite hard to part with £6 for it (get it for £3-5 elsewhere. Anyway when it was a good size, which was nice. The flavour of the mince was nice - but not Turkish style at all. A lot more spices than normal - but again, that's okay and was nice to have that difference. Problem was the bread was burned underneath so the burnt taste with the sharp spices didn't go down too well. Also, traditionally a lemon is there for you to squeeze on top which wasn't there. Roasted peppers don't go in a lamacun but that's what we got. So it was just all a little "weird". Wouldn't pay that price again and wouldn't order that again either, unless I was starving and passing by. But I am sure there are many other places on the street I will try first. The deco is cute and the salad looks nice, but the price...

The headline feature of this place is the authentic lavash flatbread, which is made to order right in front of you in a tandoor (tanoor) oven wisely placed center-stage at the front of the restaurant. Used for wraps like the falafel and tzatziki wrap, the lavash bread is warm and super-fresh. Disappointing, then, that the falafel wraps themselves are only pretty good, not amazing, and that's down to pickles and saucing (lack thereof). They're a little dry and not as tasty as they could be, given the huge potential of the bread. Of the wraps on offer, both the falafel and tzatziki (vegetarian) and the falafel and baba ganoush (vegan) could use, for me, more sauces, maybe some mint, and a big handful of juicy middle...

I feel inclined to write a review for Lavash as I have been eating here for some time now (pre-pandemic!), both ordering in the restaurant and also for take away by delivery (Deliveroo/UberEats). In well over 20+ visits/orders, I have never been disappointed by the food. It is a consistently excellent standard! The freshness and flavours are simply wonderful, and they offer such a good range of Vegetarian/Vegan options too. I really do hope they never change, and keep delivering what they are doing, as it really is very good indeed. I highly recommend the Spicy Vegan Kofta Wrap, and the Veggie Borek to anyone – Absolutely unreal. Thank you so much Team Lavash....

Feels Like Home – and Tastes Even Better Lavash on Gardner Street is a true Brighton gem. The food is fresh, healthy, and bursting with flavor—from perfectly grilled meats to vibrant salads and delicious homemade dips. You can really taste the quality. What makes it even more special is the genuinely warm and friendly staff. It honestly feels like stepping into someone’s home—relaxed, welcoming, and full of care. If you’re looking for something wholesome, tasty, and made with love, Lavash is a must.

Falafels were under cooked inside, and felt grainy, like the batter. When I spoke to the manager about this, she said” I don’t know what they’re like where you come from”. (I am British Indian) “These are fine”. She kept saying it’s fine it’s fine, and did not offer to rectify the problem. , or cook some more for me in a way that would make me not feel unwell. I felt dismissed and racially profiled. Will not be returning, which is a shame as my friend and I went on my recommendation.
