Bit surprised at the high reviews. The place isn't without its charms, nevertheless, the annoyances outweigh the positives.
The menu is a ridiculous, overly complicated attempt to be 'funky'..and it falls flat. The whole 'step by step, build your own meal' gimmick is a weak cover up for the fact there's not actually a lot on offer.
My partner and I were sat at a huge table, watching as 'two seaters' became available as time went on...& what a length of time it was. We waited well over half an hour for our modest order. Not the end of the world, but when people around us, many of whom arrived after us, were getting their food...it got a little annoying.
Next up, whilst still waiting I hasten to add, a guy was seated next to us. Instantly it was all a little uncomfortable, all be it polite etc etc. I appreciate this was probably a rare situation, but still, when seemingly available two seat tables kept appearing, it emphasised the silliness of it all.
The food itself was...poor. Well, that may be a little unfair actually because a lot of the baked goods on the counter looked great, but I ordered a burger and it really wasnt good. Rubbery, extremely firm texture, making it taste weirdly processed. Sloppy additional ingredients and, ultimately, just a bit of a pain to eat. My partners 'omelette' (more like one of those Spanish quiches, the name eludes me...not a bad thing.. but not an omellette) was perfectly decent, but a little uninspired and bland..
Staff were friendly and the rustic charm of the place was clearly nice, even if it wasnt to my taste. Just avoid the burger...it tasted really quite synthetic...the texture was just odd. If that's what's- no doubt - deemed popular, then those people should really raise their standards a little...
It may all sound a bit harsh, so it only feels fair to say that I'm sure on a quiet day, a coffee and a cake at this place would probably be lovely. Staff were nice & its cool that the place was dog friendly. Not that we had one, but still...

Amazing Food,Amazing Service and very very Friendly staff!
The pictures speak a thousand words,I don’t really have to go in to this review that much as you can clearly see the quality!
The food came quick and wasn’t overly priced either. There was a 10/15 minute wait as they are usually busy but it was worth it.
Anyways I had the breakfast burger with extra bacon ,This Dish came with 2 hash browns,3 pieces of bacon layered on top of a sausage patty with fresh chopped tomatoes on a seeded Brioche bun.
The bun was toasted to perfection and the meat was cooked well (not burnt but just right) the bacon pieces were thick cuts which is my favourite so thumbs up from me.
My partner had the egg in a hole which was presented very well. She can attest that her dish was very nice also.
We went to Nibble for my daughters 1st Birthday and they kindly changed up the menu to accommodate my daughters needs.instead of the beans on toast that was on the menu they kindly altered it for scrambled egg on toast that was not part of the menu. I did steal a bite and I think it was the best scrambled egg I’ve ever tried.
I look forward to visiting again to try some more of the menu and hopefully this place will be my first TikTok review video next time “plus 1 side reviews”

Read moreHad a trip through to Hull today and thought we would treat ourselves with something to eat at one of our favourite places. We arrived just after lunchtime and as expected it was busy but we were informed there would be a ten minute wait, and true to their word we were seated within that time. As we had the pup with us we were quite conscious it could have been a problem but they managed to find us a suitable place where we weren't in the way. We were shown to our seats and our drinks order was taken while we viewed the extensive printed menu as well as the specials board. I ordered the full English and a side order of their renowned hash browns my wife had French toast with sausages , it was also suggested that we could get a sausage for the pup. We both as usual really enjoyed our meals and the sausage was gratefully received also. Even though we were both full we couldn't help notice the vast array of sweet treats on offer at the counter, so decided to get a couple of goodies for later a bakewell slice and a raspberry and oreo brownie which which we shared between us. As delicious as the food is at Nibble the service even outshines the food nothing is too much trouble for the friendly and engaging staff. If you're ever in Hull do yourself a favour and give Nibble a visit you won't...
