Surprisingly tasty food in wonderfully seasonal surroundings at the right price. They really have got it right here. The food was just perfect, served speedily as the occasion requires. The whole table of 9 chose differently and all were very impressed. The only downside is the bar serves very undrinkable white wine (we tried a few, all disgusting) and very sadly the ale tasted acidic, a shame as it was Longman which everywhere else is excellent so clearly it was not kept well (& the pipes not cleaned daily). Opening day for the Brighton Pavillion Christmas Ice Rink and what a great setting. We have visited this place on a regular basis for the last 4 years and love it. However: The inside bar and catering area for spectators and visitors used to enjoy Christmas records playing throughout their visit. This really has to be the most beautiful setting for a ice rink in the south of England. With the Royal Pavilion lit up at night and the restaurant sparkling with lights, great food and a bar selling a great choice of beer and wines as well as a whole menu just for gin and tonic. Examples include Foxhole London dry gin - £4.80 with Folkingtons tonic at £2.00. Expensive but worth it as you watch the skaters from the warmth of the restaurant. A real most...
