Visited twice over the weekend. Once for the adult panto, in the Theatre. Second for a tribute to Hans Zimmer and John Williams by Moonlight in the Grand Hall.

It was the first time in the theatre to see a show, probably the last. The show was a bit of a letdown compared to the previous year. Not just because of the acting, but probably due to the room. We didn't have a pillar in our way, and at 5'6 not extra tall but my legs were rubbing the back of the seat in front all the way through the show, and due to being tight in, it was difficult not to get back pain by the end of the show. I've been to many theatres, and I'd like to say we had reasonably good seats. Not way at the back but not dead central, nor on the very wings. About row H. As the stage is small, it only took one actor standing at the front to not be able to see any acting going on behind.

It did seem a little dull and was chilly in the theatre. I'd suggest the room could do with a revamp and just removing a row of seats to give the customer a little more room to be comfortable so I'd give it 3 stars.

Now the Second production we came to see was in the Grand Hall. It was a much better event. Unfortunately, our seats were behind a pillow. If I knew that rows D1&2 were like various others I'd not book the outside again. However, seats were not taken in the centre of the hall so we moved seats at half-time. Marvellous! The seats were spaced with more legroom. The hall was rather warm when we went in, it was the complete opposite of the previous (fri) evening. It was like a different venue. I would certainly go back if any performances are in that room. The stage is big and has plenty to see going on. The only downside to the hall is the floor way flat so you are unfortunately stuck with the height of the people in front. Whereas the theatre was sloped down, making it slightly better in that respect nothing more. A more modern feel, still the decor was in respect and taste of the age of the spa, ie the pillars. Open and spacious, it felt airy yet warm.

The toilets were plentiful for the number of people there, expect queues, for the bar and the toilets. But on both occasions the bar was well-staffed and they moved quickly. Prices are: £6.00 pint of Guinness and Lager. £3.00 pint of lemonade Ice cream was brilliant at £3.00 120ml per pot (please don't change this! a recent trip to the Opera house in York spoilt our trip at 100ml pots of Jude's icecream at £4.60!) So the Grand Hall and event would get 5 starts. So my overall star liking was 4. We...

We had our dream wedding made a reality thanks to the Scarborough Spa!

We booked the Sun Court after our first look around with the fantastic Naomi, who painted a vivid picture of how stunning our day could be at this historic and breathtaking venue. We had always admired it from afar, but it is even more beautiful when inside and set up for a special day.

We booked not only due to this, but how much we felt we could trust Naomi and the team to handle something as special as our wedding & were proven right many times over.

Nothing was too much trouble for the team & the dream never too big, with every suggestion or request we made (including on the day!) met with a smile and a “no problem, of course we can”. We and our guests were floored and were raving about the service and how friendly all of the spa team were and how they had understood our vision as if it were their own.

The food was another amazing highlight, with the daube of beef just MELTING when pressed with a fork and the vegetarian options met with surprise by our guests who chose them, at just how generous and considered they were. Wedding food can be incredibly generic, but the dishes really stood out and were another memorable part of the day.

We could carry on forever about what we loved about our day; so will just say that we would absolutely recommend anyone on the fence to go ahead and book their...

We had our wedding at Scarborough spa in May 2024 and it was brilliant from start to finish but I have to say the lead up 12 months before that also went like a dream. Naomi is the best event organiser I have ever met (having been one I have met a few) and she goes above and beyond and thinks of every little detail. Even small things like putting the picture of my deceased step farther on the registrars desk for the ceremony and then back in the suite for the reception. Really meaningful touches. The staff through out were also incredible during the set up and on the day. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their job and that shone through and many of our guests commented. The venue itself is brilliant, so many places for fabulous pictures although I have to say we were absolutely blessed with the weather. The backdrop in many of our photos looks unreal - with the blue skies and sea sitting in the backdrop of our speeches photos it almost looks like a fake back drop its that perfect - just beautiful. Would highly recommend this venue for any function but especially a wedding. Thank you Naomi and Team for making our day so...
