Vojon Indian Restaurant Swansea — Restaurant in Wales

I've been to this restaurant a number of times on a normal evening and had a good meal in a nice atmosphere. This time, I went for the Sunday buffet for the first time, and decided to write this review having read others here before my visit.

Many of the other reviews on here suggested the experience could be a lot worse than my previous ones, but thankfully this was not the case at all. We arrived for 6pm to avoid the bulk of the crowds (many began to surge in at around 7pm). The buffet comes with a set shared mixed starter, as well as poppadums and a naan bread. We were clear from our first order that we wanted the buffet, and were sure to double check we did not accidentally order outside of it.

The buffet curries are smaller, allowing you to try at least two curries when you would normally be full after one. In two hours we had our starter and two rounds of curries, which was a leisurely but not slow pace of service that was also very friendly. The number of curries available as part of the buffet was also far larger than any buffet I have previously tried, with most of the menu (with some clearly listed exceptions) available.

I would not recommend the buffet if you are a little over-drunk and likely to be confused by the buffet restrictions, or if you hope for your visit to be particularly short. If you are in a fit state to keep track of what you're doing and you want a dining experience that allows enough time for some conversation between courses however, I heartily recommend.

Visit date 11/07/21 Sub standard no taste could have had my local take away at less than half the price and wait 1.5 hour wait from sitting down to getting main meal the sunday offer is gone right off in the years going there but just takes way to long staff are great just need a bigger kitchen as before they expanded in to unit next door turn around time was great.

To quick to give starter and drinks then just a waiting game for the main as you can't leave.

Great staff just be ready to wait not what it used to be quite disappointed will be sticking with my local in Morris spice going forward. Handi special no taste, Madras no sauce not.

Also don't get caught out by the new price for the buffet meal it's gone up but old price on Web site and menu old which they are still using you really need to look as when pointed out its written in pen over the old price and the staff don't tell you that it's gone up. I was a loyal regular customer of Vojon for about 7 years, spending hundreds of pounds in this establishment. Came here on Tuesday 11th August 2020 ( my 65th birthday). Had reserved (or so we thought) a table for a family celebration, as we have done many times over the years. Clearly no reservation had been made, there were empty tables but these had not been cleared, the waiters were running around like headless chickens. We were left sitting in the waiting area by the door and were ignored most of the time including the owner who seemed to think it was more important to answer the phone and take takeaway orders. After watching the chaos for about twenty minutes we got up and left. Thanks Vojon for ruining for what should have been the end of a lovely day.
