Sit down, listen up, and prepare to be proselytized because I'm about to preach the gospel of Social Board. The quality of their sandwiches, loaded fries, and breakfast cannot adequately be described using only those words known to mere mortals. Social Board has been my go-to for birthdays, hangovers, celebrations, exams, deaths, and every day life.
I introduce it to anyone who visits me, and each and every one of them have joined the Social Board bandwagon. My friends from London say they come to visit me, but we all know they come for the Social Board. A Uni friend paid Deliveroo to bring it all the way to Sussex's campus so it could be his last meal in Brighton. A vegan said she could "wax poetic" about their vegan sandwich and asked me if I knew of "anywhere in the entire UK as good." Still other friends have been embarrassed after visiting so many times in one weekend that the staff began to recognize them (but even social stigmatization was not enough to stop their Social Board spree).
And if the divine food wasn't enough, they have an online ordering platform that is simply sublime. No usernames, no passwords, just a phone number-based loyalty scheme that gets me £20+ off every ten orders.
I'm now moving after a year of being within a 3 min walk of Social Board. It's a devastating loss, but my rent is too high - undoubtedly because my flat's proximity to this superb restaurant has driven prices up. Anyway, do yourself a favor and give Social Board a whirl - you'll soon be singing its praises,...
Read moreWhen it was social board I NEVER had any issues with my amazing orders. They were the BEST sammich in town and I would always recommend it as a take away as my vegetarian friends could also order the most awesome meal! However, since becoming Tommy and the Chicks, the magic has been lost. Overpriced smoothies are in coffee take away cups which holds less than the smoothie cups. I placed a solo order one day (burnt bacon, old ciabatta over toasted I could have played frisbee with it. They did remake my order but my appetite had faded by this time) and when I placed an order for 2 people in the same week, the chef tried to be smart and assumed I wanted the same thing as my previous order. The sandwiches were totally different things, totally different order sizes. Sandwiches totally DRYYYYY. No cup holders?!?!? So said they would put them in a bag for me. I thought we were moving away from plastic so I don’t want cling film round my drink (how can I walk and drink then..?) and popped in a bag. If that was a secure way to transport drinks then it would have always been done this way. £33 for 2 people for breakfast and you can’t afford cardboard cup holders? All in all was my favourite sandwich gaff, now I won’t be spending my money here. Which is such a shame I had NEVER found such a master...
Read moreI went today as I was debating to go to coffee story or spend my money on social board . Savdwiches there have always been great for the premium price they charge so I went there . What a bad experience! I asked a CBA . For the price I paid what a disappointment. I had a break from work and it really ruined my lunch. Very young staff playing cooking . A girl in the counter that really needed more training and thought everything was funny . I got my sandwich and the chicken felt like it was microwaved . There was no avocado , instead there was guacamole dressing ? Avocado is avocado not guacamole . The chicken was Rubbery and had a very unpleasant taste . The bacon was flabby and I asked for mayo to at least make it more palatable and the young server in the till made a face like I was a nuisance when I asked her for that . I know the owner, and it has always been amazing and always cared to deliver great sandwiches that were worth the price, trust me . But today he wasn’t around and I could see a MASSIVE difference in customer service and product quality . So I wanted to even have a coffee but in the end I left and decided to spend my money somewhere else . It certainly was not the experience I wanted to have . Very...
