I would avoid if you're visiting Glasgow. A pretty bad experience. No hostess or anyone to greet you. I spoke to the employee at the bar (who was very nice), he said to just order at the bar and use the table number. We sat down, and took note of the table. We actually downloaded the app and ordered. However, the table number was apparently wrong (we were correct as the table number was etched in the metal plate) but the table was in the wrong place as they brought the beers to the wrong table. It looks like they at one time put a sticker over it, and that sticker was removed. When we received the food, it was very bland. My girlfriend and I aren't particularly picky eaters either. You also have to get your own condiments (in which they were limited and out of stock on basic things like mayonnaise and ketchup). The fun part, as others have mentioned, is the bathroom. Lol There was literally a t-shirt in the toilet. Urine all over the floor. A "wet floor" sign, which I would have to assume was a gag considering the place is full of urine. In each stall, the plastic unit that should hold toilet paper was knocked onto the urine soaked floor. There was only one soap dispenser, and it had no soap.

I only gave it 2 stars because the employees were very friendly. If you have to order your own food, hunt down your own drinks and food after you paid and ordered, and then get your own condiments, you might as well go get fast food and get beer at a real bar. Not sure how this place stays...

I visited The Crystal Palace, Wetherspoons in Glasgow a few times, especially with my partner, and it's a very charming pub where you can get both food and drinks. 😊 We enjoyed visiting on a weekday, and our experience was delightful from start to finish.

This pub, nestled in the heart of Glasgow, holds a rich history that adds a unique dimension to its allure. Designed by John Baird, it stands as a testament to Glasgow's architectural heritage, inspired by Joseph Paxton's monumental Crystal Palace, a marvel of the 1851 Great Exhibition. The iron and glass construction, reminiscent of Paxton's masterpiece, takes you on a journey through time as you savour your meal. 🏰✨

We decided to start our day with breakfast, and it was delicious. The fact that The Crystal Palace is a Wetherspoons establishment was a reassuring sign of excellent food at a great value, a hallmark of this renowned chain. 🍳☕

One of the standout features that both my partner and I adored was the presence of the original lift system, a piece of history that adds a unique charm to the place. Not every day you get to enjoy your meal while surrounded by such historical elements. 🚇🏛️

While there weren't a lot of staff on hand during our visits, the convenience of being able to order through their app more than made up for it. The modern technology seamlessly integrated with the pub's historical ambience, creating a one-of-a-kind dining experience. 📱🍽️

Would recommend...

Very good and friendly service also great and atmosphere is superb. Also the fish chips mushy peas is brilliant nice and hot all the time. There is not much more to add fish and chips mushy peas are gr8. Another week another day another fish and chips still the same service and quality. This is now November and the small fish and chips are braw just like we got them a few months ago. The staff are still as friendly gr8 atmosphere. It's now January 2024 and the service is still fabulous. This time we had chicken nuggets my wife had a children's portion. I asked them to make them hot because it was for a adult and change the knife and fork from a child to adult. Which they did no problem I had boneless chicken nuggets which was braw as we'll. It is now good Friday holiday weekend. My wife and I went in and the both of us this time had one chicken nuggets chips the other one was chicken stripes and chips. Both were superb hot and service was excellent as normal even all though it was very busy. It get nearer to the FairFriday in a couple of weeks. My wife and I had chicken nuggets in a basket with chips. Again they fabulous the chicken nuggets taste gr8 and the service was excellent like before in the past. I see that Linda our usual waitresses was not on today maybe day off or on holiday. The waitresses that service us was just as gr8 and helpful. Keep up the gr8 work your...

Totally disappointed with this place to start wee did find a table but customers before us so still had their drinks and rubbish on table, sat there for ten minutes making our order online nobody came to clean table, drinks came pretty fast but had to ask guy to clean our table all he took was one glass and one bottle left rubbish and two glasses,so when he came with food asked again to have table cleaned (I'm still waiting) before we eat, talk about disappointment on a burger couldn't believe this was an American burger some onions and sauce and small amount of chips not an American burger I would buy again, oh yes has to pay nearly £7.00 for this then had to pay £1.97 for a thin slice of cheese. then had to go and chase up my onion rings, think I would rather give McDonald's my money for a burger far superior than the one I had at crystal palace such a disappointment 🤨🤨

Very average Spoons. Has one interesting feature that it has one of (if not the oldest) installations of lifts (elevators) in the UK. Made headlines a few years ago when some punters got stuck in it... Overall quite dirty, tables not cleared and covered in drink and the last guest's glasses. The proper Spoons experience here - be prepared to clear your own table. A good thing is it's so big with multiple floors you're (almost) guaranteed to find a table if you're by yourself or just a few of you. Served fast though through the app with free decent Wi-Fi and food + pint (although my Corona was in a generic glass with a slice of lime in the beer) was good and friendly staff. Toilets were large and clean enough. Usually my go-to in Glasgow before a gig at the O2 Academy or Hydro as the Sir John Moore/Counting House is usually packed

Came in here the morning after going to a gig at the nearby classic grand. Staff were very friendly, food was good, nothing exceptional but for the price you definitely can't complain. I had the large Scottish breakfast with the added haggis and my girlfriend had the regular Scottish breakfast. She had asked for a hard egg yolk which came out as asked. We had popped in the night before but was very busy as expected for a Friday night but I witnessed no trouble. The toilets were clean and the place has lots of seating and a big bar. One entrance is wheelchair friendly the other has a few steps. The building inside and out is amazing and on the front of the food menu is a short but interesting piece of history of the building. Am back in Glasgow in April for another gig so will be returning!
