I was excied to visit this place, finding a good Kebab shop in Glasgow is near impossible. So was I impressed? I'd read great reviews, big portions etc. but I found quite the opposite. A £7 donner should fill, leaving you feel satisfied, not dissappear down you gullet in double quick time. Its size comparable to an appetiser at a wedding. But it tasted great yeah? It tasted fine, some home made chilli sauce as opposed to those standard squirty bottles would have helped but all rather standard fare. I give it 4/5 as they were so friendly but the food was an average 3/5. The hunt for the perfect Glasgow donner Continues...

This is a classic example of finding a “hidden gem” thanks to Google Reviews. Cafe Sono is a small spot tucked away under the street overpass at Glasgow Central. When you step into the small, eclectically decorated interior we were welcomed by a delicious medley of aromas and a friendly greeting. Based on repeated recommendations here on Google we ordered two chicken kebab platters and two cold drinks. The kebab platters were delicious as advertised, with a bit of a surprise bonus in the form of a really delicious green salad. All in the meal was £16 (about CDN $28) - great value and a delicious meal.

Hidden on Argyle in the tunnel beneath the tracks, you will feel the rumble of train cars overhead as you devour the great tasting chicken kabob, surrounded by an eclectic interior design that takes you back in time, with early 20th century cameras, suitcases and books. The staff are polite, and even made me laugh with an affable "Glasgow!" remark after they had to step outside to break up a street altercation. The loft seating provides a restful place to watch the activity below, and the unique wooden tables up there add to the ambiance. You won't regret trying Cafe Sono.

I recently visited Café Sonic, and I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish.

First, the food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I started with their signature avocado toast, which had the perfect balance of creamy avocado, crunchy toast, and a zesty lemon drizzle that brought it all together. My friend had the truffle mushroom risotto, and she couldn’t stop raving about how rich and creamy it was, with just the right amount of earthy truffle flavor. For dessert, we indulged in their homemade chocolate cake, which was decadently moist and perfectly sweet—definitely a must-try!

What made the experience even better was the service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making our visit memorable. Our server took the time to explain the specials and offered great recommendations without being pushy. Water was topped off regularly, and the food came out at the perfect pace. It’s clear they really prioritize customer satisfaction.

As for the ambience, Café Sonic is a real gem. The interior design is modern yet cozy, with a mix of exposed brick, soft lighting, and plants scattered throughout, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The background music was at just the right volume—not too loud, but enough to set the mood. I could easily see this being a place to relax with friends, have a quiet date, or even get some work done in a more laid-back setting. There’s a real sense of comfort and style here, which made me want to linger long after finishing my meal.

All in all, Café Sonic delivered in every aspect—delicious food, impeccable service, and a charming atmosphere. I can’t...

Advertised on the board outside grilled breakfast , potato scone was deep fried and along with the link sausage and bacon, the bacon was burnt and chewy, the egg wasn't nice either , toast was however toasted on the grill, came off really soft and a dash of butter on it, soggy toast, brown sauce bottles clogged up so took another bottle, the same with the 2nd bottle asked the women could I have a sache of brown sauce, she gave me a bottle that had the nozzle cut off as that was the same as the first to ,definitely not won't be back for a breakfast, however the other food looked edible, the lady who served me was really nice however, hope she shows the chef how to make a decent...

American here. An absolute gem of a place. The prices were extremely reasonable, and the food was outstanding. First meal was the grilled breakfast for takeaway and it was everything I was looking for and more. In a pinch, I went back for dinner and tried the kebab wrap and was blown away yet again. For the price, I'm convinced you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to eat anywhere. It's extremely low profile and easy to miss, so keep an eye out. The hours are also pretty loose; I was hoping to order breakfast sharply at opening in order to get on with my day quickly, but it didn't actually open up until 15 minutes later or so. That said, I'm glad I waited, and you...
