I came to the Ping Pong Club on a Saturday night,
I've been going out in Hull for over ten years and I have never come across a place like this.
This is the first venue I can happily rate a 10/10.
Firstly there's the price, cost of living is hitting everyone right now and finding the money to go out and have a good time can be a pain. Ping Pong Club is very reasonably priced.
Location, it's a 10 minute walk from the city centre, it is located near other pubs/clubs too.
Entertainment, Ping Pong and classic video games, all you can play. Fantastic selection, all of the facilities working and very clean.
Music is a great mix, not too loud so you can still have a conversation.
Classic consoles near the bar as well so you can sit back and relax whilst enjoying a drink.
Onto the drinks, I think there were around 20 cocktails you could buy with plenty of originals to the venue. I personally tried the Gerry Cinnamon and the Dog The Bounty Hunter,
Both tasted fantastic, made with good spirits, presented well and very reasonably priced.
They also had a good selection of beers at a fair price, I saw bottles of wine but cannot comment on them as it's not something I looked into.
Atmosphere I would have to rate a 10/10. Atmosphere is everything, there's no point to good cocktails, good entertainment, if the atmosphere isn't there. I felt a friendly atmosphere, bar staff were all brilliant, and everyone was just there to have fun, I felt very relaxed, safe and free to enjoy myself.
I don't often leave reviews, but I had such a good experience I felt the need to, I spoke to the owner (no he did not ask me to leave a review) and he was explaining the reasoning behind creating the Ping Pong Club and I could see the passion there for a small business with big dreams.
Unfortunately I only took one photo whilst there because I was too busy being a big kid on all of the machines, I really do insist people visit.
I can't comment on the kids parties first hand, but I spoke to my 12 year old nephew (who was the one to recommend the ping pong club to me!) And he told me how good of a time he had when at a friend's birthday here a few months back.
Overall, all I can say is 10/10, check out their website to get a feel for what it is, if you feel it's up your street you won't be...
Read moreSpent a fair amount of time here and enjoyed the arcade games, heard the drinks are good but didn't get any, same with food, I enjoyed my time mostly playing on the PS2 there and the arcade games, very nostalgic in a way as someone who loves retro games and it is a great experience regardless of being a child or adult.
Only issue I have is lack of seating for the arcade machines because as somebody with muscle weakness in their feet making me disabled as a result, it does hurt to stand around for god knows how long and seating is preferred.
Overall solid and good experience though I wish there was more PS2 games to play even if there is a solid selection with MGS3, some of the GTA's and Simpsons Hit and Run plus Road Rage and Crash Nitro Kart and Need For Speed Underground 1 plus Carbon, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 1, COD 1, all class titles plus a fair amount of football games if you like footie but wouldn't mind a larger variety.
Also staff are great, asked one of the barmen to keep my hoodie and jacket and I got it back at the end of my brief visit there and they're a friendly, pleasant lot plus they will talk to you while you game making it a more immersive and decent experience.
Overall, just worth it whether you are a child or adult, you will enjoy it on multiple levels.
Also they have Daytona USA 2 and OutRun 2, both of which games I like which I have to give praise for, also House of The Dead 4 and 2 which are great, Point Blank 2 which is solid also, Time Crisis 2 and MK Trilogy and Super Street Fighter 2, all class titles.
If you love retro gaming, go here as someone who is deep into it themselves, it is just a good time, service is great and staff are friendly plus it feels like I'm in a neon club which is great, I like the neon aesthetic.
Also despite the loudness and such, could still tolerate it as a autist.

Read moreMy son and his friend had a joint 9th birthday party at ping pong club this week. It was perfect in every way! We had 20 or so 8 /9 year olds having an absolutely fantastic time for 2 1/2 hours and they didn't want to leave. I over heard the boys saying that this was the best birthday party they had ever been to! The games were amazing, all on free play and a great variation of driving, fighting, shooting and arcade games, ping pong tables, pool table, playstations etc etc. It wasn't just the kids that had a great time too!, normally at a kids birthday party the parents are hanging around waiting for it to end, not here! All the parents were having a nostalgic experience playing all the arcade games they grew up with! The food was fantastic, home made pizzas and fantastic chips! Plenty for all the kids with alternatives offered for the picky ones. The staff were super friendly and very helpful, going above and beyond to help with the party bags and cake. I would highly recommend ping pong club!! We had an absolute blast!!! Thank you for making my son's birthday party a super...
