Saturday 16th October...It's a shame I had to give this place a star at all...... Absolutely appalling, disgusting, zero social distancing, tables were far too close together, too many people in the restaurant for the shortage of staff that was stated by member of staff. Toilets were an utter disgrace, both cubicles unusable, hand towels all over the floor, female toilet was appalling also as reported by wife. All this and we decided to stay.. more fool us. The food now.... to start, there was gloves provided to wear but no-one inforced this, having to touch utensils that others without gloves touched, not good. The hottest thing about the food was the plate, dry, mediocre food, very little of anything, and what was there was dry and not very tasty. Starters were ok, if u like chicken with a side of chicken and sticky sauce. Not replenished some of the other things. Duck wraps were cold. Mains, curry was the total opposite of the starters, no meat in the sauce, pasta was cold, pizza was burned on the bottom, noodles that I had were overdone, very soft,.. wife had complained to management by this time, she had very little that was edible. Pudding now... Didn't even go there, couple next to us said the cake was still frozen in the middle, this was enough for us.. 4 of us left having just payed for drinks and one meal price.its crazy leaving a buffet restaurant hungry.. will not be going back to this place again. Will stick to taza, we think.. to finish of it gave me terrible stomach issues later that evening, will not go into details lol. So I suspect food undercooked... Well done if u have reached the end of...
Read moreHeard a lot of hype about this place and I finally understand why, but it’s not good… it’s a buffet and that’s about all there is to say about it.
The place looks very nice but the hygiene really starts to show when you’re there.
The food wasn’t great, with a lot being bland, greasy, dry or just plain terrible. I tried a wide selection here and it’s by far the worst buffet restaurant I’ve been too. Left feeling fine and within a few hours feeling very sick.
The teppanyaki was awful, it was just greasy and the squid I had wasn’t even prepped properly with eyeballs and insides all still apart of the final product.
Some foods were unlabelled and all deserts were terrible, with all cakes tasting bland or dry and the ice cream tasting bland as anything.
The toilets were disgusting and looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in a while and had broken elements of both toilets as was made apparent by the rest of my party.
The staff were very quiet and hard to hear at points
There was a wide selection of food but not overly impressed.
Ultimately if you want a good buffet you’d be much better off going to Taza in Dundee, or travelling out of the city for Cosmo at any destination. Safe to say I won’t be...
Read moreThis was the 1st time I had been back to Yamms in quite a few months. During my last visit, I had a few off the chicken dishes, and the chicken tasted/smelled off.. so it put me off returning. (I must admit that I should have complained to either a staff member or management, but I just paid and left, vowing not to return.. which was silly on my part because I didn't give them honest feedback. I was in Dundee city centre yesterday and decided to try Yamms again, and I'm glad to say that I enjoyed all the dishes that I had on my plate 😊.. these were the same chicken dishes that I had had issues with previously. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the food was because, even though we arrived at 12 when they just opened the doors, a few of the dishes were warm, not hot... but i put this down to being a buffet restaurant and being under heat lamps.. the dishes were still hot enough for me (as i don't like piping hot food which burns my tongue/mouth 😅)..
The staff are very friendly and remove finished plates very quickly and politely.
To finish, i will say that I'm glad i took the chance to try Yamms again as I enjoyed...
