By far the worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant.
Firstly we had to wait 20 minutes at the door to be sat even though we arrived on time for our booking.
When we were finally seated, I left to go to the bathroom only to come back to my chair missing and then being told by my friends that a server came by and said he was taking the chair and that I could sit on the bench instead after being told several times someone was sat there but he didn’t seem to care.
After all that hassle we then ordered food and I ordered the chicken shish (chicken skewer) for £19 and I couldn’t believe what they brought me, 6 pieces of chicken breast, a small portion of rice and an awful side salad. All in all probably cost £2-3 to make. But that’s not even the worst part, the chicken was completely overcooked and chewy.
So after an already bad experience from the start I decided to tell the server that I wasn’t happy with the food and wanted it taken off my bill. His response was as followed “I will talk to my manager but I will tell you now that this is how chicken comes, we don’t do medium done chicken here”
I’m not sure what medium done chicken is but that was some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen anywhere but it only gets worse.
He sends over his manager and the first thing he says to me is “hello sir, we give 6 pieces on the chicken shish and there are 3 there so how can I help you” first off, what kind of customer service is that? Trying to insinuate that I’m in the wrong because I ate some of the chicken? How else can you tell if something is overcooked? But also there wasn’t 3 pieces left, there was 4 so the dish was barely touched.
But anyway I tell him that the chicken is over cooked and it wasn’t nice and his response is “we have done 100 of the chicken shish for people in here tonight and not one has complained so nothing can be wrong with yours, that’s how we do it here” I ask him if he is going to do anything about it and his response is “no sorry” Not only does his argument make no sense but talking to customers like they are dumb and like they don’t know what chicken should be like is outrageous.
I’ve never in my life experienced such poor customer service, there was no attempt to resolve the situation and I was met with hostility and rudeness, I urge everyone that reads this to not eat here unless you like...
Read moreI can only recommend. The staff was polite, friendly and efficient. We've collected our food to take-away, as unfortunately they don't do delivery. On the bright side, even with a big order we were served in only 15 minutes!
If you're looking for a place for a romantic night I would say that this is also a good option. The place looks luxurious as it is bright, spacious and very clean, also it is pricey enough to not break the bank, but still impress the lady.
Additionally, even being passionate about food culture, I was positively surprised to discover dishes I never heard of, and others I only had the opportunity to see online.
Now food wise. The food is fresh, seem traditional and taste amazing. We tried Ayran which is a Turkish drink that is like a very liquidy yogurt but that taste a bit like milk with a pinch of salt. As they do it on the day and home made, I had to bring my own bottle which was a small price to pay to make my stomach happy. The Baklava were shewy and not overpoweringly sweet and we tried tiralice (for those who knows it is similare to a 3-milk cake or tre-lecche), same thing, well balanced. Now do not get me started with the mains as the meat was still tender, juicy and well flavoured! From our three mains I would recommend going for the grilled meat as the portions are a bit bigger, but you won't go wrong with most things on the menu.
In a nutshell: It feels good to have a Turkish place in Dundee city center with a variety of typical Turkish dishes. And look at how happy is that young lady on the picture! ... well this how you'll feel if you'll give it a chance. Trust me, if you read the menu you will understand that it is a place that you have to tried multiple times because too many options look appetising, and your first bites will...
Read moreThanks to a very rude and aggressive staff member, 7 of us have had to leave the restaurant before we were even seated! The table booked on the 20th for a friend’s birthday meal and then amended and confirmed on the 22nd. We arrived, they said they did not have a record of our booking, however seated us at a 4 person table while they tried to accommodate us, as there were 7 of us including 2 children we were standing by other people’s tables while they were eating as the restaurant was so busy.
After 30 mins of waiting, we had started trying to look elsewhere but were having no luck. My friend asked how long our table would be, we were told 2 minutes. We noticed another party that arrived after us being seated so my friend asked again how long we would have to wait as they had a 1 year old that was starting to get fed up. The waiter then proceeded to be extremely rude and say that he had waved us over for this table however we did not move. We had not been waved over, and even if we had the restaurant was extremely busy, we clearly didn’t see this over the crowd so why not come and collect us? At this point we had had enough and informed the waiter that we intended to leave. The waiter began to shout and point in the face of my friend while they held their 1 year old baby in their arms. The whole restaurant went quiet and watched us be berated. I have never been to embarrassed in my life. For a man to shout and point in the face of a woman holding a baby, is utterly disgusting! And once more, his frustration was entirely his own doing. I will never be back and never recommend. I wish I had read the tripadvisor reviews before booking as they’re are other folk sharing their experiences of a rude waiter, which no doubt will be the same disgusting man we...
