I have been there several times and always there was a long waiting time , even though there was almost no one there. I observed the staff and the grill was almost empty, I ordered grilled chicken. I saw him put the chicken from the refrigerator on the grill and at that moment he was calling me there for food. I got cold food from the grill. I didn't understand why they did this to me!!!

I was exhausted. I didn't feel like arguing. They knew they gave it to me cold . They still watched me to see what I was going to do.

I just didn't eat it. I sent an acquaintance to buy me soup, it's the only one guaranteed to be warm.

I gave it a chance and tried again. I went there again a few days later , they were completely shocked when they saw me there again . I will not mention the rude behavior of the two staff .

The third innocent staff member wanted to give me the soup, but his unpleasant colleague told him that it wasn't there anymore.

an acquaintance told me that they have soup, that they just sold it to a customer , he showed me the customer and we saw him sitting and eating the soup, so friend went there to try to buy it for me, but he didn't succeed ! For me they don't have but for others they do?

I have never experienced such a shocking approach !

How should I understand this approach of dividing customers? this is how they value regular customers, from long distances! I don't know what they have against W H I T E Europeans !

In the imagination I wanted to pour the whole cauldron of soup on his head. It would be clear right away if he is lying or if it was just an intention. This lazy spoiled generation would deserve to experience suffering, fear, hunger and war on their own skin so that they can be kind again

I noticed that you cannot accept criticism and argue with customers who share their feelings by writing a review . I am not fake . I...

I had to go. And buy some other food from somewhere else its awful so if you eat there be aware it's your fault if food bad no refunds and no replacements and no care and argue at you as if your fault poor customer service I was shocked...I will not eat there again so you do not get replacement food if anything wrong don't get refund and shoo you off as if your nothing...

Food is alright but takes much too long, especially watching the staff take their time.

UPDATE: MY REPONSE TO THE BELOW OWNER RESPONSE: I've worked in restaurants where we serve fresh seafood. I'm aware it takes minimum 10 minutes. Don't lie in your response. I was there for lunch after the rush, there was literally nothing on the grill. I know because I looked to see if there was anything that looked good already cooking. You stood there with your mate talking and telling jokes. I watched you wait to put the food on the grill. It didn't only take more than 10 minutes, it took 32 minutes. Söylesene, beni aptal mı sandın? Minus another star.

THEIR RESPONSE: Thanks for your comments, and we are really apologies if your foods been delayed, you know all fresh and we cook to the orders fresh meat minimum takes 10 minutes on the grill to cook, and some times more busy at lunch time slightly takes longer, again sorry about that, kindly we are deserve more stars if you...

Great food! Visited Kirkgate Market last week after years. Today decided to go ane try the Indoor Market Food Court. The Food Court itself was bust with the usual hustle and bustle. The Food Court had lovely social environment (all whilst upholding social distancing rules). Personally I was looking to eat Halal food. Therefore, me and my Niece came across Istanbul Bakery and Mr Mackerel. My Niece decided to order from Istanbul Bakery and I opted for Mr Mackerel. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. At Mr Mackerel I opted for the Lentil Soup (with bread roll), 3 x Grilled Halloumi slices and Fresh Orange Juice. All three were lovely and well made. The soup was warm and hearty and the Halloumi slices were soft and tender. I really liked the freshly squeezed Orange Juice but did wish the portion was slighly more. Will definitely be visiting again!

I really wanted to visit Mr Mackerel after seeing a post on TikTok, so dragged my husband over to try it. I ordered the £7.50 fish sandwich meal which included a grilled mackerel sandwich, chips, and a drink. The mackerel didn’t disappoint, really nice to have fresh grilled fish and was a nice change for lunch. The mackerel itself was delicious and the bread was fresh, and there was a choice of salad to fill it with. My only reservation was that I could have done with a little more filling as the bread:filling ratio was a little off. It was also a little dry for my liking and could have benefited from a bit more sauce. That being said it was really tasty and definitely would recommend giving this place a go at least once. The chips were a bit naff, but not terrible. Definitely a good choice for quick and fresh lunch.

At £3 a sandwich, you get to watch them grill the mackerel infront of you, choose your salad and get some fresh and crusty bread! I asked for extra red cabbage, as it's always my fav part of these kinds of salads. I found the fish had great flavour, was juicy and seasoned well. We were both even impressed by the fresh bread. Everything about this sandwich was good. Their chips weren't anything to write home about but we came for the fish and amazing fish we got! If you ever find yourself in Kirkstall market and in need of a quick and cheap lunch, I definitely recommend this place.
