Kings Head — Restaurant in Lichfield

Had my very real ID taken off of me by Stuart the manager despite already serving me 5 drinks without checking my ID. Was supposed to hand it into police upon the belief that it is fake (without actually doing any proper checks) however didn’t and lied on the phone that he had, also lying that he had handed CCTV footage of us being aggressive over (which we were not at all), despite his bar lady called Erin (who’d been necking pints on the job) actually having to be held back from me, which is all you would’ve seen on the CCTV. Had to waste police time as they had to show up at the pub in order to get my ID back as he simply would not give it, again, despite saying he did. Extremely patronising, rude and lying bar staff and man, with no clue at all how to run an establishment. Save your money and stay away from this identity thief. More lies in his reply. Just received my ID back from the police and it has been cut up into pieces, purely for the fact that he wanted an actual reason for it to have been taken off me- when initially there were NO cuts or snaps just a tiny bit of bending. We have a police reference number and will be taking this further. PS. you’re supposed to challenge 25 BEFORE serving 5 drinks to a 19 and 20 year old. the review below is old So I have edited and wrote an update at the bottom which the kings head can't delete like they did on there Facebook page that I wrote because they don't like people telling the truth!!!

the kings head is a great family pub with staff that will welcome you in and go out there way to make sure your happy! the kings head serves great food throughout the day and evenings with a great selection of real ales, lager and wine to wash it all down. the kings head also have entertainment on a regular basis day and night from BBQ to live bands.

I would recomend the kings head to anyone!

The kings head has gone down hill since changing owners and the new owners have not got a clue on how to run a pub, I have been a regular customer for over 15 years and would go in on a daily basis and spend a lot of money but now I choose to spend my money elsewhere.
