One of the (if not the) worst experience ever!!
Horrible experience. I was alone on a Friday evening. I do understand that Friday evenings are crowded but Instead of politely declining me a table, they offered me one (well, not like we have anything to lose). Then they made me wait for 45 minutes. I was polite and patient enough to wait but then it was absolutely disrespectful to serve me a dish I never ordered just to get rid of me. To my absolute surprise they also knew they were offering me a dish I never ordered. They probably assumed I wouldnāt get to know. When I confronted and told them itās not what I ordered, there wasnāt any apology. They were happy to let me go after making me wait 45mins. So yeah, waited 45 mins and then walked out to go into a restaurant next door. The restaurant next door highlights the hospitality of UK I have always experienced. This one was a shocker. If getting humiliated isnāt for you, avoid this place.
If you arenāt a local avoid this totally. They exactly knew what they were doing, I do not appear a local and neither do I have a British accent. So i obviously wouldnāt be a regular customer and they thought it was absolutely okay to treat me the way they did.
Also, if you are a local and donāt think itās okay when people are mistreated based on such factors, and bring disrepute to your city, avoid this place on behalf of us. This is only bringing disrepute...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent as a party of 16 and the staff were very welcoming, the meals were nice although blander than expected.
When asked to pre-order our food before arriving we were not given a menu so had to find one online before hand and order, only to find upon arrival that meals were £3-7 more than expected, which adds up.
I have never eaten over £30 worth of food at a restaurant before, my individual bill coming to £37, the overall £600+ including a 10% service charge. (The only service being the food and drinks which is normal for most if not all restaurants?)
When presented with the bill, we asked to split between the separate parties that came to create the 16 and were told no. Except no singular individual can pay a £600+ charge all in one go at a restaurant.
Essentially, we had to tell them that the bill must be split otherwise unsure how to pay appropriately to who had what meal. (Split evenly came to around £55 yet it was unfair to have individuals pay £20 more than they ate)
We then had to spend a further 20 mins accounting our own numbers for an even bill when surely separate bills could have been asked for at the beginning? Considering we had name cards on our tables with our orders it should no be so difficult.
Throughout the meal we had mentioned possibly coming again as it was a nice experience yet the end had put us off entirely, so unfortunately will not be coming back,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSecond time we've been and it's still as brilliant. We booked using Facebook which makes it really easy. On arrival our temperature was checked and there was a one was system round the restaurant.
We had a set menu for 2 which came with 4 small starters and 3 mains and 2 rice bowls. The starters where nice, I liked the satay chicken. But the mains were absolutely fantastic. The Thai green curry was perfect, good level of spice and flavour. The sweat and sour pork had a thin crispy coating and the flavour was much better balanced than most regular sweet and sour dishes.
The staff were very friendly and checked on us a few times. Even as the restaurant got busier they remained attentive.
Prices aren't too expensive, but definitely good value for money.
This place is becoming our favourite restaurant in Lichfield.
Update: 05 June 2021 I can't praise this place enough. I absolutely love the food here. We had fish cake and satay chicken to start. The fish cakes are phenomenal. Then for mains we had Panaeng Curry, Pad Thai, and some fried rice. The curry was a little spicy but so good. I just love how all the flavours come through. Everything was cooked to...
