I don’t even know where to start because McCooleys isn’t just a nightclub to me anymore—it’s basically my entire personality at this point. From the very first night I stumbled in, I swear I was changed. The music? Unreal. The atmosphere? Electric. The people? Instant best mates, every single time. The staff make you feel like you’re at home but with 10 times the energy (and 100 times the cocktails). Every time I walk in, it’s like the world outside doesn’t exist—I could be having the worst day, and the second I hear that first beat drop, I’m in my happy place. It’s not even just a night out, it’s an experience. The DJs always know exactly what to play, the drinks keep flowing, and there’s this buzz that you can’t explain unless you’ve been there yourself. Honestly, I’ve planned my entire week around nights at McCooleys—it’s the highlight, the thing that keeps me going. All my friends know that if they’re looking for me on a Friday or Saturday night, they don’t even need to text—just head straight to McCooleys, because I will be there. I’ve celebrated birthdays, big wins, random Tuesdays… basically every excuse imaginable inside those walls. To put it simply: McCooleys isn’t just a club. It’s my church, my second home, my therapy, my pure joy. I’m not exaggerating when I say my life is divided into two chapters: before McCooleys and after McCooleys. If you haven’t been, you’re genuinely missing out on the best nights of your life.

Right, listen. I don’t know what kind of wizardry is going on inside McCooleys, but I’m convinced they’ve put something in the air because every time I go in, I completely lose track of time, responsibilities, and dignity—in the BEST way possible. The place is like Narnia but with more alcohol and better playlists. One minute you’re “just popping in for one,” the next minute it’s 4AM and the lights are on and they’re playing the goodbye song, you’ve befriended five strangers who all feel like long-lost cousins, and you’re screaming the words to songs you didn’t even know you knew. The staff deserve medals, honestly. They’re like superheroes in uniform—serving drinks faster than humanly possible, all while dealing with people like me. Legends. And the vibe? OUTRAGEOUS. I swear the walls are vibrating with pure joy. I left last weekend with sore legs, no voice, and the kind of happiness you can’t buy. My apple watch thought I’d climbed Everest because I was bouncing around the dance floor for 5 hours straight. If you’ve never been, I don’t know what you’re doing with your life. McCooleys isn’t just a night out—it’s a lifestyle, a religion, and probably my soulmate at this point considering this is the most healthy and stable relationship i’ve ever been in. 10/10 would recommend to absolutely everyone (including my grandma).

Visiting Liverpool for the first time and was craving a ‘Sunday roast beef’ dinner. Found this place on google maps and it is very close to the Holiday Inn that we are staying at. We were not disappointed. £13.00 for dinner and 2 sodas came out to £32.00. They asked for payment in advance so be prepared (cash or credit). Laura did a fabulous job and was very attentive. All the staff was. Laura was friendly and listened to our stories. Hopefully she was entertained! The only complaint was that the music was too loud for a couple of old farts! 😞 By the way, not sure if this is a hotel as the review wants me to rate it as one.

We came this morning after a trip to Wetherspoons left us disappointed due to refurbishing it was closed.

However, when we approached this place the girl there was absolutely lovely. We explained we were a hen party and there was 11 of us. We know it’s a big ask especially for smaller companies.

We were sat in a great place, a nice long table. The waitress (Kaitlin; excuse me if I’ve spelt that incorrectly) took our orders so bubbly, lovely and polite. We explained my grandma was Coeliac and couldn’t consume Gluten. Kait was so accommodating to this checking all the allergen sheets to see what she could eat and helped us. Even checking the bean tin! I thought this were so professional. She then suggested Jacket Potato as these were gluten free for my grandma which was great. She took our order professionally splitting our bill appropriately to suit our needs.

On taking our orders to what I presume was the kitchen. K seemingly got treat with absolute disgusting behaviour from some other member(s) of staff. Most definitely an overhead / manager. She came out to our table sobbing her heart out, we felt so bad. She apologised for selling jacket potatoes that weren’t allowed to be sold at that time (however menu didn’t state that). We chose other items and reassured her everything was ok and we would be fine.

K was so upset, it actually hurt all of our parties souls. That someone above her would have made her that way all for a silly mistake that was corrected.

The manager took her off our order and put someone else on our table. They got some drinks incorrect and some food orders wrong. If they left K with us I doubt these mistakes would have been made as she seemed an amazing member of staff and really reliable and I thought it just was not necessary to do so and make her look incapable. The woman who served us then in a white shirt wasn’t smiling or been friendly. She made us feel like we weren’t welcome.

Our hen do had a great time food was lovely but not all meals were correct or drinks. We felt like we had to accept them to stop staff getting the brunt of the managers.

K came and took all payments swiftly and so organised. Luckily by this time she had composed herself and started to get back to herself. All eleven of us said how amazing she is.

I really think managers need to treat their staff with respect especially ones like Kaitlin she’s fantastic and a real credit to McCooleys. We will miss her!!

I don’t want no trouble for anyone from this review, just staff to treat each other with more respect...

Booked and paid for a 3 bedroom unit as we wanted separate bedrooms for us all (older family/adult kids & partner, etc.). This was so important to me that I checked by phone and message beforehand that it was a 3 bedroom PLUS living room/sofa bed and was told both times, yes that is what you've booked. Excellent. Except when we arrived it was a 2 bedroom, which meant one of the adults had to sleep on the sofa and one couple was in the living room with them on a sofa bed! The company did nothing for us. They admitted they made a mistake, but offered nothing but a round of drinks at their hotel which we didn't bother with and a £50 refund. £50 for conning us out of one entire bedroom for a weekend is RUBBISH. DO NOT TRUST, would never book with them again. Also there's a £300 deposit that I await a refund for. ||The kitchen is ill-equipped, no washing up liquid, no recycling bins/bags. Pans are rubbish, dishes very few.||Now the WORST PART... The NOISE! The noise from Concert Square is DEAFENING and goes on until past 5am when the street sweeper starts. It's worse than you can ever imagine. And permeates through the walls and windows (you cannot open the windows, so it is stifling hot too). We had to buy earplugs in Boots for the 2nd night. If you're a hen/stag group and you're out til 5am, it won't bother you probably, but if you another adult group or god forbid a family with younger kids, avoid, avoid, avoid!||The good bits; |Shower pressure is very good (although the door is not wide enough, so the water goes all over the floor).|Apartment is modern...

After arriving at our apartment the fun started it took about half an hour just to get the code for our room. As you have to ring number and hope they answer no one to check you in. When we got to our room it was occupied by a group of girls. We then realised the text message they sent us was a different address to what we booked. Rang them they had to move us due to another apartment having a problem so they moved them to our room and moved us. Explained where lucky our room didn’t get cancelled. We eventually found the other apartment. We got through the door it was damp & fusty |Got into our apartment it was dirty smelt of cigarette smoke. We had no choice at this point to grin and bear it. We went to meet friends for a fifty birthday surprise got there late. When we got back I tried to sleep with no joy as the smoke was in the bedding. It looked like student accommodation. Happy days said they would ring us between 9-10 am the next day 11am I ring them. They can change us back to our apartment we need to wait for a call gone 12 I ring them back we can go in our apartment at 3am the will send the details more waiting and messing around but I could not sleep in that apartment another night. Do not book with these if you want a stress free weekend. I complained to happy days and all they offered was 25% off our next stay. I wouldn’t stay here if you paid me. This was not good enough we should have been refunded at least half the cost. We didn’t get what...
