After picking out Spice City for our date night, I booked a table for my girlfriend & me.  A nice warm restaurant, spacious & clean, the menus were a little damp - but before we'd even noticed that, the waiter told us they're sanitised after each use, which was great to hear!

We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio, some soda water & a big bottle of King Cobra Beer.  Our food order was; two poppadoms & pickle tray, a Mixed Starter (chicken tikka pieces, onion bhaji & a meat samosa) to share.

For mains, we ordered the Tawa Exotica - (chicken tikka, lamb tikka & duck tikka & lamb chops in a medium sauce) had the waiters' recommendation - (my go-to is normally a chicken madras) but I can't remember the name of it.

To accompany our mains, we shared a Garlic Naan Bread (not very well done as asked) Nd a portion of boiled rice.

The staff were all very friendly, professional, & knowledgeable on their food (Bangladeshi being their speciality after finding out that's where the family originate).  Price was great, £60.45 I think - we rounded up to £65 by card payment.

We'd definitely eat their again, the only negative would be that the Garlic Naan Bread didn't come well done like we ordered - I'm sure they'd have addressed it if I'd have told them at the time, so I can't really hold that against them!

Cleanliness/hygiene of staff - 5/5 Food quality - 5/5 Value for money - 5/5 Would we go...

I have experienced this place many times... both inside restaurant... and delivery (when only a hot curry will be a cure for a common cold...) i can NOT fault this place... the staff are more than helpful... the food is top notch... for me, the hotter the better... and the tandoor chef gets it spot on every time...!! The restaurant is clean and tidy at all times... theres not one thing out of place... the bar is great... beer on draught, bottles, extensive collection of spirits, even shots... not forgetting to mention the large range of wines... the food is brought out in very reasonable time from when you order... everything is made fresh... the flavours are amazing... its a very mixed clientelle... all of whom are indian food lovers...

I without a doubt recommend this place above ANY other indian restaurants in liverpool... (i dont live in liverpool anymore, and STILL havent found any place as good as spice city... and will be making a special trip at least once every few weeks just to...

What an terrible experience, Dont know where to start with No greeting or smile from any staff, felt like staff was very not interested and rude specially to Indian customers. No communication with food, my food was uncooked The food was very low standard, literally on the name of Raita you will get hardly two spoons of yoghurt with few pieces of cucumber. Asked few times for water but never got it. For first 30 min no one come to take order, after 1 hours and 38 min foods comes which is under cooked and stale,

Only the good part of the food was breads. Rest is in peace please Dont waste your money nothing personal but they need to lift game up, I wish I could tell this to manager but he was roaming around very not interested with hands in pocket and Chewing something in his mouth, because of that he can’t even talk. So I decided to write here if owner is reading hope you take it constructive and show some change and customer is reading please Dont waste...

The food here was absolutely unbelievable. Delicious. Spicy, full of flavour. The North Indian dish was just like the flavours I grew up with (being half Indian myself). We are vegan and they offer a tofu alternative to every meat dish and it was just amazing. We scraped our plates clean. Staff were so friendly and helpful the moment we stepped inside. What an absolute FIND. I grew up in London and have eaten in many, many Indian restaurants and this was definitely one of the best I’ve ever been to. I wasn’t sure which wine to order so they let me try both before committing. The only reason I have given it 3 stars for atmosphere is because we came here early and there was no one here. Maybe it’s a better atmosphere a bit later! I wasn’t so keen on the music because the speaker was right above us but it’s not a big deal, we could still hear each other easily.

lovely food. Absolutely terrible service by the staff. So rude. The GIRL who took our order was wearing her tight gym kit. Sport leggings, T shirt and trainers. Unhygienic. The Bengali waiter in black uniform was so rude - he kept talking to my non Asian friend whereby I was the one dealing with the order, bill etc. At one point I had mentioned I am 21 years old with 22 years experience (now that’s telling my age) The GYM going female staff member as well as the rest of the staff burst out laughing and running to laugh discreetly. Clearly they did not get the pun of my age. GROW UP! I made sure I left no tips for them - despite them being from my community. Shame on you members of staff. You’re the most rude and unwelcoming Bengali/asian people I have ever met!
