I come to the ormo lounge on a fairly regular basis and have never had a problem before, the food is amazing and usually so are the staff. Having been here before and with other customers walking straight in and sitting down we thought to do the same as usually this is what you are told to do despite the sign at the door. We decided we wanted to sit on a table that had dirty plates on it, this was our own decision and to no fault of the staff! We just didn’t mind the table having a bit of water on it and were happy to move the plates to a different table for staff to eventually clear as we were happy with the location of the table with both of us being a little bit anxious and preferring a tucked away space. We also both work in hospitality and understand that this time of year is especially busy and stressful. However this does not excuse the attitude of the woman with the red bob who abruptly came up to us whilst we were moving the plates and was extremely patronising. We apologised about not being seated as we didn’t realise they had started using this process, to which she said “that was until 5 weeks ago” in quite a rude manner. Again we apologised and explained we had been there multiple times before and this had never been the case so we were sorry and we would wait next time. We then said thank you whilst she was clearing the cups from the table to which she stood over us and said “I understand that you’re annoyed with me but it’s company policy” again in a rude patronising manner. We understood. She didn’t need to make us feel unwanted and unwelcome. I simply said “I just think it could have been said in politer way to which she then said “everyone in here heard and would say I was polite” in a raised voice. Which brought attention to our table. We then got up and left because we both felt awkward and uncomfortable to which she said “okay fine, bye” and did some kind of snigger? I think it’s highly unprofessional and working in the industry myself is not how I was taught to behave nor would I ever behave that way during service. Safe to say that when that lady is working I shall not be eating at the...
Read moreI am really upset tonight. Before i start i wanna say i have been to the Toro Lounge in Cirencdster just 2 weeks ago and i absolutely loved it and i told about it to my partner. Today first day of holiday with my family, i passed by the Ormo lounge in Llandudno and i was so happy that i had to bring in my family and share the experience with them. First of all only 1 lady running the floor and three behind the bar.. chatting and filling up few drinks. The poor lady running the floor was lovely and apologised many times when se sat us ( as it took soooooo long). Anyway i pushed my fiancee to order the Nasi galasi ( or whatever is the name) as i previously loved it. Is supposed to be with chicken and prawns.. after digging in the rice she coild not find any toppings.. only rice And we found a chunck of rice that we cannot explain. Is it microwaved rice?? Do you know how frustrating was it? And see her face so disappointed killed me.. but it was not the only issue. The kid ordered a main salad and we were shoked at the size. 13 £ for probably not even 20 gr of lettuce? Are we kidding? One more thing.. Patata bravas were hard, raw , with a sour tomato paste ( it was definetly off, probably expired for a couple of days. Anyway if after a dknner you have to go to Sainsbury to buy a meal deal because the restaurant food was not enough, it means there is something really wrong Portions were probably half of the Toro lounge. Anyway the poor lovely lady was still alone on the floor with the other three still doing nothing, sp when the first came to us asking questions, i could not bother to make her evening miserable, cause ours was already spoiled and i wasted 70 quid tonight. Horrible...
Read moreI have been going to various Lounges around the country for 10+ years now and this is the first time ever that I've had a really bad experience.
My husband and I were staying in the Travelodge down the road and wanted somewhere nice for breakfast, as we can't have gluten or lactose.. The place was really quiet, yet we weren't greeted as we came in and tables were dirty.
Our food... it was absolutely dreadful. First of all, both meals were cold. Secondly, they brought normal butter with a vegan meal (the waitress did apologise, but even so, what's the point going to the counter and making a point of our allergies/intolerances if they're not taken seriously??) There was also hair in my food.
I complained as we left and the waitress was kind enough to refund our meal. She said we hope we'll come back and try again. I explained that we had a family birthday dinner booked for the following night and hoped it would be a lot better.
Was it? Absolutely not.
My mum booked her birthday meal 2 weeks in advance for a table of 7. We were squashed right in front of the main doors around a table we couldn't properly fit around. I had to have a leg either side of a table leg just to eat my meal. Wtf???
4 of the meals were cold. The service was quite poor. No one seemed to take any real interest, even when my mum said the food just wasn't good enough.
There are 3 sections of the restaurant with more than enough space for a table of 7 to enjoy a nice birthday meal, but no. Also keep in mind that the meals aren't exactly cheap.
Seriously so disappointed in Ormo Lounge and would not recommend it at all, neither will I...
