Ban Thai Hackney — Restaurant in London

We ordered delivery from Ban Thai this evening. I'm not sure who they have working in the kitchen, but this isn't real Thai food...

prawns in pad thai and pad kee mao are meant to be stir fried into the noodles, not deep fried separately and placed on top they used the wrong type of spice in the pad kee mao, and they put lemon slices into it

...nor was it even any good...

the duck was dry and flavorless the prawns in the massaman curry were completely overcooked, and they added far too much sugar

When I saw that they had non-Thai items like chow mein, udon, and Singapore noodles on the menu, I should have trusted my judgement and not ordered from them. If you like real Thai food, don't make the same...

Food was bland unauthentic westernised Thai food. The Som Tum had no dressing other than what tasted like a squeeze of lime and zero spice. The dumplings tasted like they were cooked from frozen and served with a weird sauce you would never expect with dim sum. The pad kra pow was bland and lacked any spice. The food was good - overall. However the Calamari starter was poor! Mainly batter and very little Calamari. (Disappointed)

The curry chips arrived very cold and I live 2 min away from the restaurant.

The mains were tasty and portion size was good.

I have changed my review after ordering the second time. Food arrived cold again. Clear directions were given to driver.

I found it to expensive for cold food!
