Extremely disappointed with my experience last week. I ordered roast duck rice with extra duck for £19 (£4 extra for the duck). While queuing, I was told there wasn’t enough duck for the extra portion, only a regular one. I agreed to swap the extra duck for char siu instead.
When my food arrived, I couldn’t see any roast duck at all. I asked the staff about it, and they lied, telling me “oh, it’s under the char siu.” After a bit of back and forth, they refunded me £3, but when I sat down and properly checked my meal (see picture 1 and the 2nd video), there was no roast duck at all, it’s just char siu.
My colleague also ordered roast duck rice with extra duck (picture 3), paid the same £19, and received an underwhelming portion. For the price, the quantity is unacceptable and this entire experience was incredibly misleading and frustrating.
To make matters worse, the quality has gone downhill—mushy rice, shrinking duck portions, and staff who are not honest with customers.
We’ve been loyal customers for a long time, including regular team orders for our company. Sadly, after today, we won’t be returning. This place has completely...
Read moreI’m Vietnamese and this place has the most authentic banhmi in London. I work nearby and have to come here every day for early dinner. Their banhmi has a thin crust and hollow inside which I have not found anywhere else. My fav is the stew beef brisket. I need to get a loyalty card!!!! Edit: I came back another time to try My Tho soup. The broth is so authentic, exactly how it would taste in my home town. I don’t know if they have changed their portion sizes, but it has lots of toppings (1 big king prawn, a lot of char siu slices, 1 rib and half egg). It is pricey at near £10 so not an everyday treat but for what you get, it is decent value Edit 2: the hoi an deluxe banh mi is very...
Read moreWhat an experience! The bread is crunchy, with the right level of softness, which compliments the super tasty content with the mix of texture. Reminds me of one of the banh mi I had in Vietnam.
So I don't eat beef or pork (yes I know - insert joke here 🤦) and for that reason my expectations were already pretty low but thought of giving it a try, especially with the amount of people queuing for this place (be prepared to wait for a bit if you are going there around lunch time on a week day). But they did not disappoint at all!! Decent size, very very tasty and if this is the review for a chicken banh mi, I can only imagine how good their traditional...
