Honi Poke Moorgate — Restaurant in London

Staff seem really lovely. However shockingly poor communication both times I've been.

It's not clear at all that when you pick up a sushi set from the counter you're meant to pay at the self service tills, made this mistake the first time I went and queued for 15 mins to pay only to get to the front and be told I could pay at the self serve.

Second time around, determined not to make the same mistake twice, I saw the sushi set I wanted wasn't at the sushi counter so dutifully ordered it via self serve with my name. Another 15 mins after waiting for the sushi to be made, I was told they had run out but forgotten to update the system. I ended up buying something rushed as I'd run out of time.

Please PLEASE update your signage to say 1) customers need to pay at the self serve and 2) if no sushi left at the counter you cannot...

Did a click & collect from Honi Poke and honestly, everything went super smoothly. Ordering was hassle-free, my meal was ready right on time, and the staff were friendly when I picked it up.

I got the salmon tartare so fresh and flavourful, probably the best I’ve had in a while. The California bowl was packed with good stuff and felt really satisfying without being heavy. Also tried the gochujang chicken bowl, which had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, with crispy chicken and great toppings.

Couldn’t resist the sides the prawn gyoza were golden and juicy, and the chocolate mochi was soft, rich, and just hit the spot.

Portions were generous, everything was neatly packed, and nothing felt soggy or rushed. Great experience overall will definitely be...

I'm a regular and the quality of food has been consistently good. However today when I tried half rice half slaw option for the first time, the portion was quite small - (1) the slaw was not "packed in" so very little amount took up a lot of room (unlike what I've had from Island Poke at Broadgate Circus) (2) top of the bowl's content barely touched the bottom of the lid (not forgetting how narrow the bottom of the bowl is). Not very satiating lunch for the money paid. Not sure if that was a one-off eg due to inexperienced staff but portion control...
