I went out with a bunch of friends after work to have a few beers. The first round was fine, there was a nice chap that served us. The second time I met 'manager' and she asked for id. That's fine, since I am under 25. I showed her the id and she straight up refused to check it because it was not a UK id, though it was a EU one. I asked an older friend to get me my drink and he did. Later security came in and took my glass of beer from my hand saying I disobeyed the pub rules and if I made a fuss he would call the police. I said he should, because I am over 18 and I did have every right to enjoy my beer, especially since I was already outside but he wouldn't listen. I said I would call the police myself if he did that but he refused to listen. In the end and employee agreed to pay me back for my beer but I was entirely disappointed. I did not do anything illegal and they had no right to come to follow me OUTSIDE the bar and get my drink with force. We were a large group, of about 10 people ranging and everybody tried to reason but they would not listen. The most they could have done was forbid me from going to their bar but following me and my group and getting forcing me to give up my drink...

LFantastic spot in Moorgate – Highly Recommend!

Popped into The Globe in Moorgate and had an absolutely brilliant experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and made sure we were well looked after throughout. The service was friendly, attentive, and relaxed – exactly what you want whether you’re in for a casual drink or a proper meal.

The food was spot on – great quality and plenty of it. We tried a mix of mains and bar snacks, and everything was fresh, flavourful, and served quickly. Special shoutout to the bar snacks – they were unexpectedly impressive and perfect for sharing over drinks.

Speaking of drinks, the Tommy’s Margaritas are a must-try. Perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sharpness and sweetness. Easily one of the best I’ve had in London.

Whether you’re looking for a post-work drink, a chilled meal with friends, or a lively evening out, The Globe ticks all the boxes. Can’t...

Fantastic Pub, Even Better Service Thanks Connor!

The Glove Pub is a standout spot near Liverpool Street, but what made our visit exceptional was Connor’s service. He was friendly, knowledgeable about the drinks, and went out of his way to make sure our group had a great time.

Why We Loved It:Top-Notch Hospitality* – Connor’s recommendations (especially the [specific drink/ale]) were spot-on. Lively Yet Relaxed Vibe – Perfect mix of after-work crowd and historic pub charm. Quick Service* – Even when busy, Connor kept things efficient with a smile.

Minor Note: The food menu is small (try the pies!), but the drinks and atmosphere more than compensate.

Final Verdict: A must-visit—especially if you’re lucky enough to get Connor as your bartender!

Alternative (More Casual Tone): *"Connor Sharon and Tyrel at The Glove Pub is a legend! Remembered our orders, cracked...

This is all what a visitor like me would expect from traditional London pub. Going to London so far only for business I got a chance to see some of those (and not a lot more ;-)): they are pretty much the same, yet this does not mean there is anything missing in this particular one. Great and friendly staff, decent selection of ales and lagers, good pub food. The place is noisy and busy, but the climate really compensate for this, it is actually the part of the experience. No wonder my colleagues from London branch call it their second home! Been there several times on numerous visits, surely will come back if the work or leisure drop me to London again. A year later: Mr Matt is a man of his word. I am drinking this ale as promised right now, and The Globe is as good as it was, which is the best! Thanks!

Good for a spot of lunch. Good pies with proper pastry all around. Not the usual puff pastry topped pie. Decent pint of Doombar. Air conditioning was spot on. Updating to 5 stars as one of the bar staff pulled me a pint of Pride. It had about an inch of head but she put it to one side while she poured a lager for my mate. Then she topped up my pride. I would have been happy with the original pint but this is the kind of service that needs recognising. A great place. Friday was busier than usual. Update - If you like your ales I can recommend the Plum Porter.

Booked a table in the afternoon after watching a show at the Barbican centre. Unfortunately it was during a England match so the pub was packed, fortunately though I'm a big rugby fan so didn't really bother us to much. Lovely building and a decent pub too. Nice pint of Peroni and fairly good food. Staff amazing! Professional, polite and friendly. Only reason I didn't give 5 * was that our nachos with pulled beef topping was stone cold and my partners ham, egg & chips was only luke warm. The rest was OK.
