Just had an evening meal here today. It was anticipated that it would be an enjoyable meal out for my colleagues' birthday and we wanted to enjoy the experience, but how wrong were we! We were seated and then left unattended and after nearly half an hour, and had to try and ask to be served. The manager then rudely said "yes, i was just coming to you!". We ordered our drinks and food. During my meal my drink was finished and i had to try and order another one but it was difficult to grab anyone's attention, becase the one waitress was serving everyone alone and the manager that evening, Saso, was seated on a table and chatted away to a table of four customers, talking about his drag show and how he does his makeup. After finally ordering another Peach Bellini, i waited around twenty minutes for my second drink, after which i nearly had all of my main course. The service in general was atrocious! We were given our main meal and dessert with no cutlery and had to keep asking for it, and then when we did, it took them ages to give it to us, so we just sat staring at our food whilst it was getting cold. During the meal, the manager kept prancing around and started singing and actually did the splits in front of us. Such a weird and unpleasant experience. I would suggest that this place is avoided like the plague! Nobody asks if you are ok, or if your food is fine. Customer Service was disgusting!!! I asked for the bill and i told the waitress i did not want to pay the service charge, and she said we have to pay it and refused to remove it from the bill. She never even asked why i didn't want to pay for it, so I guess she wasn't bothered. She spoke to the manager and he said he will take the service charge off but he didn't ask why we didn't want to pay it either! They both then changed their tune and couldn't wait to get rid of us. When the actual bill did come round, when i disputed the service charge, the manager then decided to pick the bill up and removed the student discount i had already been granted by the waitress, as 'apparently', they don't do that on Sunday's, but the waitress said they did and that it was fine and concluded the bill as so. The manager then charged us the extra money that had already been deduted from our bill and made us pay it.
There were so many other things that were wrong about this place, but i can't write a novel on this place, otherwise i would be up all night!!! I have no intention of returning to this place; ever!!! What a complete waste of time and money!
I wish i could click on 'no stars' for this review, but that option was not made...
Read moreVery disappointed! :( We came with high expectations and we didn't have a pleasant experience at all. Very bad service (and it was a Sunday evening with few tables, so not even busy). We had to wait almost an hour for our starters, which were calamari&zucchine, a focaccia (we asked for a simple rosemary focaccia, with nothing else on top) and a kid pasta. After a very long 50-minutes-wait (and with kids it feels even longer!), we FINALLY received our starters, but the focaccia was wrong. They brought us a focaccia with mozzarella and garlic on top. We told the waiter again that we had asked for a focaccia with only rosemary. So we had to wait again for that, and when it came it was wrong again! It was almost comical. When they finally gave us the right focaccia it was nice. Probably the best thing we had that night. The calamari and zucchine was mainly zucchine, and the very few calamari were dry and chewy, not good! Then we had gnocchi and paccheri, which were okay but nothing special. And then a very 'quick' tiramisu, because it was so late already, having waited so long. It was okay but there was not enough cream and it was a bit too sweet for me. So overall the food was mixed, some good things, some average and some bad, but the service was just bad. And with those quite high prices I expected more from both food and service.
After that long wait and the twice wrong focaccia, nobody came to apologise. They just took 10% off the focaccia (only the focaccia) which I found ridiculous. I was shocked and they certainly didn't deserve any service charge, but since it was so late already we just paid and went home. We didn't try the pizza, which is probably the best thing there, but after this experience I'm not sure I want to go back. I can find nice pizza somewhere else with a...
Read moreTable for two at lunch yesterday, had an absolute clueless waitress and a not-one-bit-surprised gratuity tacked on at the end. Their staff needs to be taught basics of waiting tables and before shamelessly tacking on a service charge for the worst service in the world, show some self awareness when a customer is displeased. Nothing infuriates patrons more, and we will gladly not be be going back.
Server asked for our order within 2 minutes of us sitting down with our glasses empty and table without cutlery. We asked her for water. Sat for 10 minutes - asked for two more times before she came over and dropped a bottle down and walked away and let us serve ourselves instead of doing what a service means and pouring water for your guests. Only one of our dishes comes out; she drops one plate on the table for one of us and the other waits for 10 minutes without her saying anything. When people go for lunch it's to have a meal together, and 101 of serving tables means you bring out the everyone's main dish at the same time. I raised my hand and asked her when my food might be coming and got an impatient look and uncomfortable smile, brushed off completely with "yeah it's coming". 10 minutes later I got my salad - SALAD - as my partner finished his pizza. No dressing on it, raised my hand again, waitress uncomfortably looked the other way and ignored us, I had to get up and go to a service cupboard and get oil and vinegar myself while she stood there watching cluelessly from the other side of the room.
Bill came and 12.5% gratuity added. The sense of entitlement with this whole service charge at places particularly like this where you'd get better service at a McDonalds, is laughable and unacceptable. We'll be bringing our...
