So I journeyed my way from the uber boat to the park through the markets and local streets, as I walked by I noticed this rather aesthetic chip shop and thought I'd give it a go. Catchy name, lots of history behind Mr Jack the Ripper, beautiful blue eye catching colours on the shop. There was 2 people serving, 1 man and 1 lady. The man did not even take any notice of me and my friend, totally blanked us and looked as if he didn't want any customers. The lady was on her phone, she too did not seem to really care about us, we would have walked out of the shop but I was really craving fish and chips so we stayed to order. Eventually when the lady took our order I noticed that the hotplate wasn't really clean, the counter was filthy and it seemed as if they didn't mop the floor because there was grime all over the place. I didn't see if they had a food hygiene rating up but wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2 or lower. Anyways moving on, when we finally got our chips, baring in mind the chips box was half empty...like there were rationing the food or something even after charging £4 a portion of LARGE chips, they wouldn't give any sauce, it was 30p extra per 5ml? Of sauce sachets...OK cool I don't mind paying for that but should have told me before so you can charge me in 1 go instead of multiple times. I did as for a generous amount of vinegar because who doesn't like vinegar on their chips :) Guess what, there was hardly any vinegar 🤣 Now, if you managed to get this far into the review then drop us a thumbs up so I know I'm not just typing out of frustration for no reason. Anyways, now to the main part. When I we got out of the shop and took a bite of the chips...Guess what??? They were FROZEN chips. YES, FROZEN like the ones mum's get from Iceland! Wth?!?!? Why would I go to an authentic chip shop to buy frozen chips? Yuckkkkk. Won't ever...

Had a lovely day in Greenwich, seen a local chippy, had good reviews so we gave it a try. We ordered large cod and chips and told it would be 10 minutes, we were happy to wait. During the order we were asked did we want home made tartare sauce and mushy peas (a staple with fish and chips) we took the sauce.
10 minutes pass, we go to the counter, it's obvious they have forgot to make the order but they reacted as soon as I came up so I decided to wait a little longer. I know they forgot the order because two other people got served their food before us even after arriving 5 minutes after us for the same food. They insisted the food would be freshly cooked.
18-20 minutes after order, it is ready and piping hot, it is clear there are a few issues, the tartare sauce is an extra, not complimentary and is tiny and quality wise, no better than anywhere else. The second problem was the cod was regular size and not large as we ordered and PAID for simply because they forgot.
The food, the cod was nothing to shout about but alright it was hot and okay. The chips were average.
We were charged £20 for this, it is simply not worth it and won't be returning.
On a side note the male cook should take heed, I say this because after we were getting served, an Asian family arrived and you addressed the male person as Chino, which is accepted in Spain and the Spanish speaking world but not in the English speaking world.
I'm not suggesting you were being disrespectful as I have lived in Spain before where the term is used collectively but here in the English speaking world it is simply unacceptable, so please stop...

The fish and chips were nothing short of perfection. The batter was crispy and golden, encapsulating the tender and flaky fish inside. The fries were impeccably seasoned and had that ideal balance of crunch and softness. Every bite was a flavorful symphony that left me craving more.♥️🌹♥️🌹
