So I journeyed my way from the uber boat to the park through the markets and local streets, as I walked by I noticed this rather aesthetic chip shop and thought I'd give it a go. Catchy name, lots of history behind Mr Jack the Ripper, beautiful blue eye catching colours on the shop. There was 2 people serving, 1 man and 1 lady. The man did not even take any notice of me and my friend, totally blanked us and looked as if he didn't want any customers. The lady was on her phone, she too did not seem to really care about us, we would have walked out of the shop but I was really craving fish and chips so we stayed to order. Eventually when the lady took our order I noticed that the hotplate wasn't really clean, the counter was filthy and it seemed as if they didn't mop the floor because there was grime all over the place. I didn't see if they had a food hygiene rating up but wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2 or lower. Anyways moving on, when we finally got our chips, baring in mind the chips box was half empty...like there were rationing the food or something even after charging £4 a portion of LARGE chips, they wouldn't give any sauce, it was 30p extra per 5ml? Of sauce sachets...OK cool I don't mind paying for that but should have told me before so you can charge me in 1 go instead of multiple times. I did as for a generous amount of vinegar because who doesn't like vinegar on their chips :) Guess what, there was hardly any vinegar 🤣 Now, if you managed to get this far into the review then drop us a thumbs up so I know I'm not just typing out of frustration for no reason. Anyways, now to the main part. When I we got out of the shop and took a bite of the chips...Guess what??? They were FROZEN chips. YES, FROZEN like the ones mum's get from Iceland! Wth?!?!? Why would I go to an authentic chip shop to buy frozen chips? Yuckkkkk. Won't ever be going back.

"I'm a big fan of fish and chips, and I've tried many takeaways, but Jack the Chipper is by far the best I've ever had. The fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked, and the chips are crispy and golden. The portions are generous and the price is very reasonable. The service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I can highly recommend Jack the Chipper to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable meal. Here are some of the specific things I love about Jack the Chipper: * The fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked. It's not greasy or overcooked, and it has a great flavor. * The chips are crispy and golden. They're not soggy or greasy, and they're perfectly seasoned. * The portions are generous. You get a lot of food for your money. * The price is very reasonable. Jack the Chipper is great value for money. * The service is friendly and efficient. The staff is always friendly and helpful. * The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It's a great place to eat with friends or family. Overall, Jack the Chipper is a fantastic takeaway that comes highly recommended to anyone who loves fish and chips."

Always wanted to try out this place being fairly local as feeling peckish still after visiting Greenwich Market. Busy over the weekend, Ordered Haddock and Chips (Lrg) take away freshly made. Wait about 10 mins which was fair but the staff's body language handing over the bag had his back facing and placed it over the counter rather abrupty to continue doing something without a smile, they expressed thanks to other customers bit earlier when they finished... so not sure what's his problem is. Other than that, the Haddock and Chips smelt so good for the 15 mins drive back home. Taste Fresh, the flesh was flakey and puffey as you would expect. There was the added crunchy/crispy from the batter as i expected it to be soggy by the time i got home. Nice thick cut chips. Packaging was a nice finishing touch. Being based in a tourist hotspot area (Cutty Sark) it's on the pricey side of things so more of a treat now and then.

Not a good experience.

Had a lovely day in Greenwich, seen a local chippy, had good reviews so we gave it a try. We ordered large cod and chips and told it would be 10 minutes, we were happy to wait. During the order we were asked did we want home made tartare sauce and mushy peas (a staple with fish and chips) we took the sauce.

10 minutes pass, we go to the counter, it's obvious they have forgot to make the order but they reacted as soon as I came up so I decided to wait a little longer. I know they forgot the order because two other people got served their food before us even after arriving 5 minutes after us for the same food. They insisted the food would be freshly cooked.

18-20 minutes after order, it is ready and piping hot, it is clear there are a few issues, the tartare sauce is an extra, not complimentary and is tiny and quality wise, no better than anywhere else. The second problem was the cod was regular size and not large as we ordered and PAID for simply because they forgot.

The food, the cod was nothing to shout about but alright it was hot and okay. The chips were average.

We were charged £20 for this, it is simply not worth it and won't be returning.

On a side note the male cook should take heed, I say this because after we were getting served, an Asian family arrived and you addressed the male person as Chino, which is accepted in Spain and the Spanish speaking world but not in the English speaking world.

I'm not suggesting you were being disrespectful as I have lived in Spain before where the term is used collectively but here in the English speaking world it is simply unacceptable, so please stop...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the fish and chips shop, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a delightful meal.

The fish and chips were nothing short of perfection. The batter was crispy and golden, encapsulating the tender and flaky fish inside. The fries were impeccably seasoned and had that ideal balance of crunch and softness. Every bite was a flavorful symphony that left me craving more.♥️🌹♥️🌹

The service was equally commendable. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure every detail of the dining experience was just right. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations with a genuine enthusiasm that added to the overall enjoyment.

What truly stood out was the commitment to quality ingredients. It was evident that the fish was fresh, and the attention to detail in preparation was exceptional. This commitment to excellence elevated the entire dining experience.

In conclusion, the fish and chips shop exceeded my expectations in every aspect. Whether you're a seafood enthusiast or just looking for a delicious, satisfying meal, this establishment is a must-visit. I left with a full stomach and a smile, eager to return for another round of culinary...
