Black Sheep Coffee — Restaurant in London

First visit to this branch. Toasted sandwiches were very nice, should have been cut in half though. Coffee was good, nice and hot. Had to double-cut as too hot to hold. Cups did not indicate which coffee was which. Oat or coconut milk. You must be very careful here with cross-contamination and allergies. Must do better! Upstairs is basically a study library for students. All tables taken by students trying to meet deadlines. Music was at a nice level but as I was writing this, Destiny’s Child came on and up went the volume! Youngster’s! Staff were polite

Now for the bad bits. Toilet seat broken Floors and stairs very dirty, covered in dust and dirt building up in the corners. The place is not cleaned to food hygiene standards. Tables not cleared away promptly. Crockery left by the bin area. Bin area not cleaned Ordering tablets all need a wipe There was a newspaper on the floor where we sat that was dated from yesterday! Floors mopped?

Guys I ordered through delivery. Bottom of Bag was visibly soaking wet when it got handed to me, I asked the driver “what’s this” he’s asking me “is it ok?” Does it look ok?!?! NO BRO! As I try shut my door the bag gives out and my order explodes everywhere. My carpets ruined, legs soaked, everywhere soaked with matcha and redbull. Great way to start of my morning. And there’s no way just eat is reimbursing me for the carpet!! I’ve had problems prior to this order through delivery, such as missing items or just burnt food. But nothing too bad for me to stop ordering from here as I love the matcha, and what the brand signifies. I’m just so pissed off this is how I’ve had to start my morning, whilst also being quite poorly! Please please please train ur staff to pack better. As this is not...

Edit: second and visit today, coffee tastes better and service was quicker :). There is a toilet too which is handy, but wish they gave money off for bringing your own reusable cup (Waterstone's cafe gives you 50p off! ). Original review: Well it's good to see a half decent coffee shop open in Romford finally. Was their first day open so maybe staff are still getting used to everything, but service was a little slow and lacklustre. For me the coffee could be more bitter, but at least they don't charge extra for the much more ethical and environmentally friendly oat milk - although they do charge extra for other plant milks, so watch out.
