I like to leave reviews on places if they are really good or really bad. Today’s experience, unfortunately was really bad! I came in to my local pub to get a chicken roast (as I have heard good things about this place and it is within walking distance from where I live).

I was made a passion fruit martini that didn’t that tasted very weak given it cost me £11. I also didn’t get my prosecco as it stated on the menu until I asked for it. The lady that was serving me, was then very rude saying that they made a mistake on the menu and Prosecco would not normally be provided (that’s not my problem- I think you need to sort out your menu).

Given the cocktail was not great, I told her I would like wine instead, and she mentioned that I couldn’t change the drink and would need to pay again. Later she then said that I could have the wine. She refused to give me the £1.50 that I paid extra for the cocktail.

She brought the wine over and then she came back for the weak cocktail and the Prosecco that she left on my table. She didn’t say anything when taking it either.

In addition to this, she never asked how the food was, given I paid over £15 for it. Just to let you know, the food was flavourless and not as good as it was described.

I wouldn’t actually recommend this place to anyone either, I only came here because it is literally on my doorstep. I’m very disappointed in the service more than anything, and unlikely that I will be coming back.

I would love to know where good quality customer service has disappeared to?

Please do see the menu attached which states Passion Fruit Martini ( that mentions about the prosecco, which the lady didn’t give me initially).

I felt like it was a waste of £30 to be honest.

Just a slight edit: When I left the manager did say thank you, which shows he is respectful. However I went past the waitress and she completely ignored me- I think she needs to be retrained on her manners and...

I arrived in the men’s toilets to his very peculiar behaviour, he was obsessively grooming his hair while awkwardly watching me in the mirror. I ignored him almost entirely due to his unusual behaviour was guessing that perhaps there was some mental health issues but I couldn’t ignore the smell of alcohol on him which again I thought was odd since later I found out that he was the pub manager ( I was told his name is George). After he left I walked to the toilet cubicle and within a second of my arriving in the cubicle I heard the main toilet entrance door only half open and no footsteps so I leaned back for line of sight to check my safety and privacy. To my horror this man (George) was again in the toilet but this time peering into the toilet cubicle where I was and making an awkward eye contact again. He then stormed towards me and strangely asked if I was busy. Metaphorical alarm bells started ringing as this was completely absurd behaviour. My instinct was to take a self defence action but he was short and vulnerable so I opted for the exit. He then continued to follow me around the pub and was becoming more aggressive towards me. I have no idea what he wanted as his behaviour was peculiar and comments were incoherent.

I remained very composed and calm and I was already planning to leave the pub prior to using the toilet facilities. I did originally think the pub was very nice but now I doubt I would even visit that pub again and I will certainly make sure to let my community know to stay clear of this pub and especially to know that there is a manager who works while intoxicated on alcohol. This incident is so bizarre. I dare not imagine what his true intentions were in the toilet.

I would be very happy to have a conversation with the owner Tommy to discuss...

Came here yesterday as a group of 8 to celebrate mother's day and was extremely underwhelmed. Arrived around 5.40pm and was not made aware upon arrival that over half the menu including food and drinks was no longer available due to shortages. We should have been made aware before sitting down/ordering drinks and nibbles. A welcoming atmosphere would have been expected considering the prices, however, service was sub par and we felt ignored by some of the staff.

In terms of the food, we were given a small portion of trimmings to share amongst 6 people who ordered roasts. The turnip tops we ordered were mostly broccoli not turnips tops. The rhubarb tart had 3 slivers of pear/apple, most definitely not rhubarb.

Not to spoil the day we carried on as best as we could but we all left disappointed. I can sympathise that mother's day would have been a busy shift but as a group we should have not felt the brunt of this, especially as the pub was no longer busy. As we made the booking in advance, the pub knew we were coming and should have...
