Horrendous service - absolutely horrible.
Firstly, no one cleans tables after other people sat there. You have to specially ask them to clean it for you and all the lady did was wipe it with a dry cloth and it was still sticky. Had to ask her to use a disinfectant and seemed as if she was bothered by my request.
Wanted to order a pizza at around 1.45pm, but had to wait till 2.30 to do so because that’s the “rule” (even though it’s not mentioned on the menu). Menu on the website is not even the same as what’s in the shop. And the staff don’t even know what’s on their menu.
Also ordered a latte, she placed it in a cup and not a mug. Never seen anything more stupid. How am I supposed to hold it when it’s hot and has no handle. I told her everyone else has a mug, she said that cappuccinos are only served in a mug - clearly a lie, why would a mug only be reserved for a cappuccino, when they’re both hot drinks. She had a lot of attitude too, and when I returned to ask her to replace it in a mug, she said she can’t and rudely gave me an empty mug to do it myself.
Food is mediocre aswell and expensive. I don’t mind paying extra if the food is amazing, but it’s okay at best. They could’ve even heat up my muffin…
Overall; the main issue is the staff. Super unfriendly and unwelcoming, seems as if they hate their job. In jobs where a lot of tourists are regular customers, it is important to hire good and understanding staff. If they hate tourists, then they should work somewhere where tourists aren’t the main target audience. The staff spoiled the lovely outside view.
FYI, add halal options. Muslim community make up a huge % of your...
Read moreI visited the Serpentine Coffee House in Kensington Park with friends today. It was a very windy and cold day, and we saw the café on our way to Kensington Palace, so we decided to stop by. However, from the moment we arrived, we had a disappointing experience.
There were not enough seats inside, and the three staff members glanced at us once before continuing their conversation amongst themselves. When we went to place our order, we asked for two hot chocolates, a cappuccino, and an Americano. The staff member responded curtly, asking if we wanted two cappuccinos and an Americano. When I corrected the order, they rudely insisted that I had ordered it incorrectly. Wanting to avoid a scene in front of my friends, I just smiled and placed the order.
While I don't expect exceptional friendliness when being served, there's no need for such a cynical attitude. This visit was very unpleasant, and I have no intention of returning. One star.
Additionally, the prices are not cheap. If there are any sadists who enjoy paying to be treated rudely, this café will provide them with the...
Read moreThe food is ok, but the way the staff run this place is tragic. First of all, it's a bit of a zoo and free for all with the line (or lack thereof). Everyone is trying to get in before the next person and the staff does absolutely nothing to create a sense of order. I watched one poor kid who came in after me nearly moved to tears because she wanted ice cream, was waiting a long time, and the staff was just letting other people jump in to place their order before her and her mom. I ordered a milkshake (that's hard to mess up) and asked about the size. The girl working there told me "It's the normal size" as if that should mean anything. Anyone who knows Customer Service 101 should know when people ask you this question, it is because they need a specific answer. When I told her that her response was basically meaningless, she stood there like a deer in the headlights unable to comprehend how uninformative her answer was. She literally just stood there until I just told her the obvious thing to do: point to the size of the cup or tell...
