From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, the experience was overall positive. I believe my server was Iqra (this was two months ago, sorry if I got the name wrong!) and she was super. I was attended to quickly and professionally and with a smile - not overly so in a generic "wear a smile" way but in a more genuine way, which was nice. I didn't order particularly much food, but I was still given the miso soup complementary which was very kind.
The food was as expected. Pretty good, but nothing that will be particularly memorable. This is in no way a negative comment, just simply the food is good, and without a bad word to say about it.
The reason I deducted a star from the 'Atmosphere' section is because the table I sat at was very wobbly. It was hard not to spill the miso soup. I would have moved to another table, however the one next to me seemed to be equally wobbly even with a pad of some kind under one of the legs. This didn't ruin the experience but it did detract from it.
The other star I removed from the "Food" section is because seemingly they don't have proper cutlery for serving soup. It was a paper cup of kinds and I was given no spoon. When I asked for one, I was given a standard tablespoon. Again, this did detract from the experience because a relatively shallow spoon for the watery soup meant I had to lean forward a lot to prevent spillage, which was tedious alongside the rocky table. Maybe they saw my struggle and is why they made the soup complementary? They didn't say so, but either way, it certainly did help relax the frustration towards it.
Overall, I had a very nice experience here. I certainly would recommend it ^^
TL/DR: Overall pretty good. Service was prompt and efficient. My complements to Iqra.
Notes: Avoid the tables by the window, they're very unstable. Miso soup does not come in a proper bowl or come with a...
Read moreAfter tasting samples outside the previous week we decided to have lunch here today between 2-3pm. The food wasn't anything special but is perfectly acceptable. What wasn't acceptable was the service by the waiter who served us, who left me and my friends feeling like an inconvenience. My friend ordered the Yuzu cheesecake and after much waiting was handed Little Moons Mochi without a single word. After saying that this wasn't what was ordered, the Mochi was taken away again without any communication. She was then handed an extremely poorly presented cheesecake in a pot that had just come from the freezer. It was warm around the edges and frozen in the centre. To make matters worse when it came to paying, we asked to split the bill between the four of us. This is a perfectly normal request in any establishment, and yet out of what seems to be pure laziness the waiter asked if one of us could pay and we pay each other (knowing we were students as we had asked for student discount). After my friend worked out the price we would each pay, he then allowed us to split the bill, again without any communication, just thrusting the card machine towards each of us. I was extremely disappointed in the service and shan't...
