Davy's Wine House — Restaurant in London

Went to there couple of weeks ago with a group of friends.

The bill we received had two extra glasses of wine we didn't order. We noticed it later, went back there, sent email to the manager who came back with an offer of a free bottle of Processo for our next time. But because of the overall bad service overall we received on that night we just wanted a refund. Well no one replied back to us on that..

Also waiting time for food on the random Wed night was 45 mins, then no one came to check on us for about the same amount of time. we asked a waiter to recommend us a bottle of light red that wasn't to expensive and she came back with a bottle of French Pinot Noir claiming that the price is "between 25 and 35 pounds", in reality it was 49£, so quite a difference especially having in mind that we ordered two of those bottles.

So if you're going there, be prepare to wait long time, don't trust staff knowledge oft the menu and double check items...

I booked out the downstairs bar area as we were a big group of 25 people, and ended up spending about a grand and some change. The majority of the food was good and so were the staff so cant fault them there. The only thing I would say is that I had some unnecessary resistance about switching a £4 dish out for a different one which is very odd as it was recommended to us and wasn't very good. Another thing was we were also continually asking for a top up of beers which was a slight annoyance as i gave very clear instructions 2 weeks prior about the needs of the group. Overall was a fun night just confused why the manager wouldn't leave a staff member with us the entire time as i had to go looking for them a few times.

All in all would be recommending this to anyone who wants a fun night out and good food (get the patatas bravas - potatoes good amazingly), would visit...

This place has gone down hill in a big way. Food was poor and service rude. Noticed one of the staff eating whilst serving customers. Food was more or less thrown down on our table by the same member of staff. No..'would you like mayonnaise or ketchup'? just roughly delivered and the waiter was off... Never mind triple cooked chips I think the burger was reheated and the bun had definitely been cooked three times longer than required and completely burnt. This was clearly noticed by the lady who cleared the plate but no 'was everything ok?' No comment at all. My colleague asked when paying the bill if they had staff issues and got a simple 'no'. There was no enquiry as to why he was asking the question. Maybe we caught them on a bad day and will give them another chance...
