🇬🇧 There Are So Many Delicious Foods in London!💙
Bean me up Coffee!Bean me up Coffee!
I Giotto give compliments to the chef… But that’s all they’re getting. I love Italian food and was super excited to come here. We’ll start with entering the restaurant. I was not greeted, instead I was confused if the hostess/waitress actually worked there because she just looked at me as I walked in. It was only because I said my party is already here that she gestured for me to go through. The decor is lovely, large open windows, comfortable velvet sofa, faux plants suspended from the ceiling, bright lighting and marble tables. Even the single chairs were deep and comfortable. Everything about this place is gorgeous. We started with two starters the bruschetta and the prawns. The prawns were delicious, the garlic creamy sauce complimented the prawns very nicely, however… where’s the rest of it? A huge plate for 4 prawns and some rocket which cost around £9. Oh and don’t forget the two little cherry tomatoes there. The bruschetta was nice but I have had better. We complimented our meal with a glass of white wine, but the amount the waitress gave us was like there was a wine shortage, rather then an egg shortage. The glass was finished in two gulps and nobody shots wine. If you’re going to short us on a glass of wine do not sit us next to people who have a fuller glass then us, who didn’t order a bottle. I ordered a margarita pizza and my friend ordered the salmon pasta. The pizza was ok, the base was just a bit to dense for my liking. It was like Italy had decided to try to recreate pizza huts deep pan, the crust was lighter then the base. The amount of cheese to sauce ratio wasn’t evenly matched. I feel I should be able to taste the sauce and have the cheese pair nicely with the dish rather then over power. Was hard to finish and I’m someone who can eat an entire dominos. I’d like to say that the service made up for the few aspects that has dampened this review. But alas this is not the case. Actually it’s why I wouldn’t recommend going or even setting foot back in. Even in Frankie & Benny’s you’re greeted with a smile, checked on regularly and attended to. Not at Giotto. It’s not like the place was busy and there was one person covering the whole restaurant. The woman in the white turtle neck jumper never smiled, never came over to see how we were or enjoyed our meal. We had to ask for our dessert menu and extra drinks. Even paying the bill at the end was an ordeal. Especially as I was short changed. I just wanted to leave! So Giotto you can keep that 30p 😂 The young girl who was assisting this lady was really lovely. She had a great energy, smiled and was easier to approach. For her, we were happy to pay the service charge. And here’s another tip you can add to that 30p: do not have service charge and the service was awful.

This dining experience was extremely disappointing and completely ruined by the attitude of one particular waitress. When serving dishes, she was rough and careless—placing plates and food with loud clattering, even putting a steak right at the edge of the table, without announcing the dish name. Her expression was consistently impatient. When I hesitated for a moment on how I wanted my steak cooked, she actually told me to “Google it myself,” something I have never experienced in any restaurant. After that, her service toward us was dismissive and careless, while she was cheerful and attentive with other guests. The stark contrast made us feel very uncomfortable and even discriminated against. This was supposed to be our final, memorable dinner in London, but instead it turned into a frustrating experience. To be fair, another taller waitress was very patient and kind, and the food itself was delicious, which is why we still paid the service charge. But the overall atmosphere had already been ruined by the poor attitude of that waitress. I sincerely hope the restaurant takes service quality seriously, because no matter how good the food is, it can easily be overshadowed by terrible service.

Visited here for our anniversary and thought we’d try somewhere new. When we originally booked the table the reviews seemed good, on the way to London we were double checking dress code and noticed a few recent reviews which made us think maybe we should go elsewhere and after our experience we should’ve definitely gone elsewhere…

Upon arrival we were greeted fairly promptly gave our name and the lady said she would seat us in a moment, after about five minutes we were still waiting and had to grab there attention to remind them we were in fact still stood there. We ordered two lasagnas and a side of fries along with two colas and some tap water. When trying to order the fries it took 3 attempts along with pointing to the menu as it seemed English wasn’t there first language (which we wouldn’t mind but when your in an English country you would expect English to be easily translated). When our food came out only the lasagna came. We chased up the fries and was told they were coming, they came over after I had finished my lasagna and my partner almost finished to say they had forgotten about the fries and would we still like them - we said no considering we wanted them with our meal and to take them off our bill. The lasagna was nice however we felt it wasn’t worth the £21 we paid. We decided against a dessert considering our experience so far so asked for the bill, they brought out a dessert to apologise about the fries for us to share. We then had to wait approx 10 mins for our bill to come which then had a 12% service charge applied… we asked for this to be removed due to the poor service we received.

Overall the food was nice hence the two stars but overpriced with very poor...

Try not to be fooled by all of the good reviews on the food. Before trying this place we read the reviews and saw some negative ones towards the food explaining similar issues to what we experienced, but seeing as there were also a lot of positive reviews we decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Genuine honest opinion: I wouldn’t bother, you could definitely find something much better not too far from this place. The interior and staff were nice but Food was clearly all frozen or seemed to be microwaved. Calamari was chewy and Everything was bland and disappointing. Both starters just tasted like something out of the frozen isle in the supermarket and the carbonara was poor. You could tell the food was not freshly made before even tasting it by the questionably fast rate at which it came out after ordering. The food was edible but overall disappointing, when you pop into somewhere like Wetherspoons for a quick meal you are satisfied by the poor quality and the fact that the food is clearly not fresh because you have paid pennies for it, you get what you pay for. On the other hand, when you go into a supposedly good quality restaurant and you are met with these same standards, for the price you’re paying it’s not worth it at all you could definitely just get some frozen bits as starters and a microwaveable carbonara from the supermarket and have the same experience at home without the disappointment and for a lot less money. We chose not to complain as the staff were polite and the restaurant was quiet so we didn’t want to cause an issue knowing other customers would hear and cause the staff to feel uncomfortable but we wouldn’t...
