As of this morning 21/11/2022 the boards have been removed and the restaurant looks open for business again.
The lunchtime specials are good value and consistent, Iāve been here a few times now and the food is always the same quality. The last time I came here I had the shredded duck with pancakes āniceā today I had sweet and sour lunchtime special and it was good value for money.
This is a nice Chinese restaurant located directly opposite one of the main entrances to Camden market. They have a great drinks menu with a good range of alcohol.
On todays visit they still had the Halloween decorations up which looked quite nice at least they made an effort unlike some places. They have a lovely spacious resting and if you are with a large group you will be comfortable. The staff are polite and attentive. The service was quick.
The toilets are downstairs and they are clean and modern. They also have a disability ready toilet on the ground floor which is very thoughtful. They serve fraught beer and real Coca Cola on the gun. The bar has a great range of Jack Daniels, so JD&Coke is the way forward. Special dishes are Dim Sum and shredded duck. This restaurant has been open since 2017 and is still going strong.
What I almost missed was the Beer Pong, they have a private room downstairs and and separate area upstairs. The downstairs part has a private karaoke and beer pong room total rent out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI chose Lan Kwai Fong as it was the best reviewed Thai restaurant in Camden. I'm speechless as to how. We were a party of 7 people having supper on a Sat night. 2 parents aged 55 and 5 twenty somethings inc 3 Australian vistors who were craving Asian food.
First the good point (s) the staff are awesome. Charming, kind and attentive. Struggling to think of the second good point but I guess walking distance from the station is a plus.
Now onto the bad points.
The restaurant atmosphere is pretty ordinary. No ambience and the whole focus seemed to be on the beer pong and Karaoke happening downstairs. That should have been the warning side for me but it wasn't clearly labelled.
The food....Lord where do I start. The Chicken Satay skewers had been deep fried within an inch of their lives and were inedible . Our main courses looked and tasted old and as though they had just been chucked in a microwave. The fact our food came out 5 mins after we had ordered should have been an indicator.
Did we eat it? Yes. Was it because we were starving ? Yes. Did we all say it was the worst Asian restaurant we had been in. Yes and finally will we be back. Absolutely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe booked this place for a birthday and opted for the Ā£150 package (for up to 15 people) which came with food and drinks. The jugs of booze were great however we were really let down by the food and the service. The package was supposed to include āmixed hot platters and chicken wingsā and we received a plate of really tasty wings, however only received one plate of food for the āmixed food plattersā. This plate had one portion of tofu, some ribs and some bland spring rolls. I couldnāt understand how āplattersā meant one plate of food. I queried this with the staff and they said that the price reflected all the jugs of drinks however it just didnāt seem proportionate. When we arrived, we sat at a table and nobody came over for half an hour to discuss that we had booked the digital beer pong even though we had told them when we arrived. We did have a nice time because it was a group of good friends but I think I would have preferred to just order our own bits off the menu because the āmixed hot plattersā was a false misrepresentation of what was actually served. There was probably enough food for one bite of...
