A Culinary Kraken: My Voyage with the Octopus Hot Dog I recently embarked on a culinary adventure so profound, so utterly bewildering, that it has left me questioning the very nature of food, man, and the mysterious depths from which this creation crawled. I speak, of course, of the Octopus Hot Dog. From the moment it arrived, I knew this was no ordinary frankfurter. Nestled in its bready vessel, two succulent, perfectly curled tentacles protruded, a miniature kraken emerging from a doughy abyss. It gazed up at me with beady little mustard eyes, a silent plea before its inevitable voyage into the cavern of my mouth. Was it a hot dog? Was it a cephalopod? The lines were blurred, much like my vision after a couple of questionable gastropub ales. The first bite was a symphony of cognitive dissonance. The familiar, comforting taste of a classic hot dog, a flavor that speaks of summer barbecues and questionable ballpark hygiene, was immediately followed by the subtle, yet undeniable, texture of… well, tentacles. It was a textural rollercoaster my tongue was not prepared for. One moment, I was enjoying the satisfying snap of the hot dog casing; the next, I was navigating the gentle resistance of what I can only assume were miniature suction cups. My dining companion, a man of simple tastes who considers ketchup a vegetable, was less enthralled. "It's looking at me," he whispered, pushing his plate away. And he was right. The little guy did seem to have a personality, a certain je ne sais quoi that made devouring it feel both monstrous and oddly delightful. I found myself giving it a little wave with a spare tater tot before taking another bite. By the second tentacle, a strange sense of camaraderie had developed between me and my meal. I named him Bartholomew. We shared a moment, a silent understanding of the absurdity of our situation. He, a humble hot dog elevated to the realm of mythical sea creatures. Me, a grown adult having a heart-to-heart with my dinner. Did it taste good? The answer is as complex as the creature it emulates. It was a culinary chimera, a hilarious and slightly unsettling masterpiece of food engineering. It’s the kind of meal that doesn’t just satisfy your hunger; it creates a memory, a story to be told for years to come. Would I recommend the Octopus Hot Dog? To the adventurous, the curious, and those who appreciate the sheer, unadulterated silliness of it all, absolutely. It's more than a meal; it's an experience. Just be prepared to make a new, eight-legged friend, and then mercilessly devour them. I, for one, will never look at a hot dog the same way again. Bartholomew, my dear friend, you were delicious.

Long story short: Avoid! Avoid at all costs. It's very expensive for the food quality. I got there because a friend of mine is... Well, he was a huge fan of Pescobar. He was following him on TikTok and it was astonished by his online performances. I watched a couple of his videos and I wasn't impressed. Basically, the guy has created an image, an image that sells. Welcome to the magic of the social media folks. It's only about the gimmick. Just like Salt Bae. Basically, people are getting fooled by that fakery, and they want to go there just so then can say: "I've been at Pescobar's restaurant... Deal with it, losers" All the 5 stars review are coming either from people who haven't tried seafood before and they dont know how it should taste, or from people who got fooled, but because they've paid a high bill, they're afraid to admit it and they want to fool other people, getting into the trap. Or perhaps both. So, this friend was bothering me to visit Pescobar's famous London restaurant. A lot o people queuing tyere, taking plenty o pictures and selfies, just so they can brag and prove they've dined at Pescobar. The place can't be called a restaurant. A fast food on a train station is looking way better. The tables are cramped, you can barely squeeze in. The stay was very unpleasant. There are no printed menus, we had to look on our phones and give the order to the waitress. There are no drinking options Wine: white or rose and extremely overpriced. One type of beer. And that's it. The food.... Right... The foooood.... Do yourself a favour, get some frozen seafood from Aldi, cook it acording to the instructions and you'll be better with that. We tried the BIG Fritto starter plate £90 - chewy, rubbery and bland for the price. It comes with a bottle of wine included, which otherwise will cost £50. An absolute ripoff. No value for the money. For the main, I had the Mussels dish. They were chewy, dry and a lots of them not cleaned. Yes, not cleaned. Absolutely horrible. The sauce was extremely salted. I had an indigestion after that, so i can put it gently. My wife had the Prawn Royale. Same thing. Dry and very salty sauce. My friend and his wife had an Octopus kebab each. Very salty and greasy. The service: like I've said, no printed menus. The staff was friendly overall, and doing their best. Cudos to them. Thats the only positive thing i have to say. We automatically received the service charhe on the bill. Aside of th staff friendliness, there is nothing there to deserve a service charge. If you're not convinced, go and try it yourself. I will definitely not go back.

Ok so I had high hopes for this place but what a disappointment it was. First of all today is the third day since they opened and being Monday the contrast with the weekend was from the ground to the sky! Barely someone there which somehow was to be expected. I decided to try the "famous" octopus kebab as I like sea food quite a bit so I waited on the queue to be served. I looked around for a meniu with the prices but there was none. There was a girl with a tablet who was taking the orders and she told me that the menus are only for the indoors seatings. I said ok and I asked her what can I get from the take away queue and she pointed out they only have two options. The octopus kebab and some mixed seafood. I chose the kebab because that's what I wanted anyway still not knowing how much it was and yeah it was 18 £. That's a bit pricey I thought to myself. I said that better be good. After around 5/10 min waiting I was given what you see in the pics. A tiny half pitta bread very light with a little bit of octopus a piece of lettuce and some french fries and a little garlic sauce. On top of that both octopus and chips were quite cold. A total rip off! You should try it to make your own opinion and maybe you'll have better luck but for me it will be a no no.
