I came in with a friend as this place looked quite nice from outside and also the inside and whilst we were excited, we ended up leaving very unsatisfied.
The main fault was the service and lof information we received before spending lots of money on here.
This place is a hot pot where you put different meats, seafood, veg and many other food items.
We were told that they need the table back at a certain time as we haven’t booked which is not an issue as me and my friend don’t spend much time in restaurant, however we felt completely rushed.
We had minimal idea on how the hot pot worked, the waiter didn’t inform us how it worked, how long to cook it, and ideas on what order goes well with each other and which do not.
We decided to order a chicken broth with a range of different meats such as; beef and lamb, we also ordered a range of different seafoods such as; octopus and prawns and many different types of veg.
We decided to start with veg and meat, as the broth and meats was not too bad, however after time the broth became almost inedible, later on adding the seafood the cross contamination made it almost unbearable, leaving a horrible taste and feeling behind as we left.
Furthermore we ended up spending a ton of money on this place as we spent so much less for so much better.
Our main issue is not to disregard the business nor the food, as we have a very wide range of different types of foods that we have tried as it is almost our hobby, and we also never leave reviews.
We are just disappointed that we spent a lot of money and a waiter didn’t even give us only a few short minutes of their time to just explain to us how it works, recommendations and just a little less rushed service as by the time we finish d we still had a lot of time until we had to leave.
Furthermore the beer was very stale.
If someone could contact me in regards to this as we were left very disappointed with this place despite being...
Read moreI've walked past this restaurant uncountable times on the way home with the mind to book and eat here. Finally, the opportunity came and I was not disappointed! Service was good, and the food was delicious. With so many options, I decided to play it safe and start with the nourishing chicken broth as the base. Due to allergies we chose the dual hotplate option as I had the mind to order seafood for my side. However, when the hotplate arrived, I felt it would be easy for cross contamination so decided against, glad I did. For the main protein, we decided on the Premium Marble Lamb and Prime Aberdeen Angus Ribeye, very enjoyable and moreish. I did prefer the taste of one over the other but both delectable and for the life of me I couldn't tell which was which anyway! To accompany this had the vegetable platter, corn on the cobs, Beef Tendon MeatBalls, Lamb Dumplings and a sides of rice and noodles. Don't judge me I was famished but honestly I felt bad wasting the noodles being too full by the end of the eating session. I did try them but I'm not a fan of chewy thickish noodles anyhow. My son did not enjoy the meatballs (fussy palate). Having to eat the majority alone I found them to be yummy and succulent. Belive me not greedy, but he was paying so someone had to eat them, just us so I did the needful , no regretssmile. The vegetables were fresh and with the broth, perfect. Standouts were the Enoki and Wood Ear mushrooms, first time trying them and would do again. Only con was as the broth reduced down , I find it salty. The table is awkward because there's no space under for your knees due to the device warming the hotplate housed in a wooden box. Overall, great food, good atmosphere with people minding their own business enjoying food together. My pics weren't taken with a review in mind at all and I'm unable to upload the ones my son took. Next visit, better pics for sure as the presentation is...
Read moreI can understand why this experience can be a bit puzzling to customers who aren't familiar with the concept of hot pot. The menu is brought with a pen, and you just write how many of each you want. The waiters come to pick it up, confirm they understand what you wrote and will replace your paper menu by your side so you can keep adding if needed. Start with selecting the broth, then meat, sides and vegetables. My advice is to under-order rather than over-order. We were 3 people and with what we ordered we just about managed to finish everything we ordered as they're generous with the portions!
We went for the small dual flavour with less spicy chicken broth and the tomato broth. It's a sensible option to have a non spicy broth for guests who don't eat spicy. Because it was our first time there, we went for ease and chose the beef & lamb platter and the small vegetable and noodle platter with additional sides such as kimchi and octopus.
The food comes really quickly as obviously, everything is raw. The seafood is served on ice which is a nice touch. I would say that in the vegetable platter, I definitely didn't need the potatoes or carrots, and the noodles included in there were the single thick/large ones but there weren't many of them. Next time I would order my vegetables and noodles separately. The meat was ok but I missed a nice sauce to dunk it in. We ordered this green chive sauce which I really don't recommend. It was really, truly awful. The kimchi was super delicious and I couldn't stop eating it. The broths were both very flavourful and definitely not too spicy. The waiters came to top it up half way through our meal.
The service was ok and quick. We arrived at 6pm so it wasn't busy at all then. However when we left at 7.30pm, people were queuing! I definitely...
