** Changed this to one star from 2, after my "permanent" hair colour came out in a matter of two weeks. I toned down my whole hair from brown to black (super simple procedure). Every time I showered I noticed black water stains on the bath tub ... Now the brown tone can be seen again. The blow dry (charged additional £40) was rubbish too. The guy couldn't fix simple C curls at the end and fringe !!! Through and through terrible.
I usually go to Aveda Lifestyle Salon (down the street from them) but on this occasion they were fully booked so I thought I'd give this place a try, when I found them on Treatwell, as it seem to have a similar system. However, my experience was disappointing and unpleasant, for several reasons : Some dodginess going on with the price descrepency between what they display on Treatwell vs. what they ask for in actual. They said Treatwell has "made a mistake", but till today the price remains unchanged on Treatwell. Bad time management: I came well before time, but was kept waiting past my appointment while another walk-in customer got treatment straight away. When I informed the receptionist that I don't mind any other specialist doing my hair she lied and said he was just finishing up when he was still putting foils in someone's highlights. Unpleasant receptionist : upon payment, the receiptionist informed me that I would have to pay a higher price because the stylist who was substituted was a higher grade. She waited for me to react and only when I objected that their mismanagement of time wasn't my fault, did she come back snarkily "I was just about to say that we were going to ask the original amount". She knew exactly what she was doing. This was a very contrasting experience from the Aveda LSS. When my appointed stylist was not in, they informed me from the very beginning that a more senior person had to step in - but I would be charged the same amount. A lot of my negative experience is due to overall mismanagement and unprofessionalism of the spa, but a lot of it could have been averted by how well the receptionist handled it. I will be sticking to Aveda and recommend others to...

Read moreVery horrendous experience getting a blow dry with Simone.
She didn’t listen to what I asked for. I explained to her at the beginning that I wanted straight hair. After the wash she asked me again what I wanted, and I said straight hair. She proceeded to give me an entire head of curly hair.
When I pointed it out at the end, instead of offering to start all over again from the wash, she just kept adding hairspray and running my hair through a very high-heat straightener over and over again in a vain attempt to fix it. It did not work and all of this heat must be very damaging to the hair. She kept adding hairspray on my now half-straight half-curly hair and that changed the texture of the hair which made it look more and more dull, but she didn’t care.
She showed me how it looked from the back, and apparently she was totally ok with leaving my hair asymmetrical with one side with much more volume with the other. I can’t believe any stylist would be comfortable letting their client go outside like that. It’s almost like she didn’t care - didn’t care to listen to what I wanted (which I did explain to her, twice), didn’t care enough to start from scratch, and didn’t care about their clients going out there with a half done hair. With this attitude she shouldn’t even be a hairdresser if she doesn’t listen and doesn’t care
It was very frustrating spending 2.5 hours getting a blow dry. I later got a very lovely stylist to redo my hair completely from the wash and...
