I came here a week ago with a couple friends. We were super excited cause we'd seen tiktok vids recommending this place and wanted to try foods similar to what we'd eat at home, but in a restaurant sitting.
Place looks very nice on the inside and tables and bar area look good. My problem however, is that my friends and I were seated in an area known as 'the cage'. Literally a caged area away from all the other tables. We asked if we could move but were told there weren't any other tables we could go to (there were empty tables but I'm assuming they were booked for later). 'The cage' was right at the back, next to the toilets and the outside area. We were freezing and had to ask the staff to turn up the heating. We were basically isolated from everyone else and couldn't really enjoy the vibe of the restaurant much, which was a shame.
The food options weren't a whole lot; just a single page. Sides were lacking; I ordered the jerk chicken and of course wanted rice and peas to go with it but they don't offer that. The only rice option they had was jollof rice. Okay. I opted for the suya fries instead.
The food took a while to come I won't lie. We waited about 30-40 minutes after ordering for the food and even then we had to wait for one of my friends food to come another 10 minutes later. When the food came, the portion sizes weren't really giving. Very small amounts considering the price; I at least thought the jerk chicken would be half a chicken considering it was £20 for just the chicken (sides aren't included with mains) but nope, just a chicken leg. The suya fries were beautiful, enjoyed them loads. My friend got them too and really liked hers too; my other friend got the jollof rice and she wasn't impressed. She said the flavours just weren't giving. My jerk chicken tasted amazing, just wish there was more of it. My friend got the chicken burger which was nice she said, other friend got the lamb cutlets. Not a good enough portion size considering they were £25. She finished them in two bites lool.
We wanted ketchup for our chips and had to ask 3 different waiters because they just kept forgetting to bring it. My friend had to chase one down because she'd asked him for it, he hadn't heard and kept walking away. Made me crack up honestly, she was chasing someone down for ketchup haha.
The drinks were okay, we got the rum punch. It was nice, can't really go wrong with rum punch. Only got the one drink though because as I said earlier, we weren't really catching much of a vibe so weren't keen to stay for long and get lit like that.
I will say, our waiter Vee was very lovely. We could see she had a lot of tables to serve so was doing her best to take care of them all. We mentioned the food wasn't really the greatest and that our seating area wasn't the best and she gave us some shots to make up for it. It was a nice gesture and I don't have any complaints about her, she was great (give her a raise!!).
Overall, the place gets a 2/5 from me based off the strength of the flavours from the jerk chicken and suya fries. Don't see myself coming back here...
Read moreRat rat rat!!!!…. We where eating our food outside in the garden at first the people behind us were screaming the rat was running around the Shisha area behind us and then it ran all the way down to the longest table that’s near the kitchen area run down under the table. Obviously we all stopped eating our food because who has appetite for food after a rat has just run across your feet and it was a very big rat almost as big as a cat with wings. Then the waiter had the audacity to come over and make us pay the full bill as if that’s normal behaviour like… no please wait while I speak to a manager, so I requested for us to get a discount of 50%. They ended up giving us a 30% off after a bit of convincing which was very irritating because respectfully it just would’ve been the right thing to do. The lady I spoke to admitted that they do have a problem and that they’re aware that they’ve got a “rat infestation next door”. So in other words this was not a one time thing so me personally I wouldn’t be going back and also as we were leaving why is the security guards arguing with customers? It’s very embarrassing behaviour like get it together the ghetto if you go there stay safe because the kitchen is literally in the garden and they even have the rat traps by the kitchen door which was open the whole time we were there. Also, they were expecting us to pay the service charge and we said we don’t want to pay it and they actually had the nerve to ask why. I had to chase for my drink and my friends drink and the ladies conduct when she was talking to me, she was being patronising. The plantain that I ordered was very nice, but my chicken suya was nice on the outside, but the inside wasn’t nice…the meat kind of tasted like it wasn’t clean to me but hey Ho, everyone was happy with their food It’s just the rat that ruined the experience. Also, they had this one chef who kept on recording our way and we didn’t like that he should’ve been working not recording people very unprofessional. Also if you’re in the garden, they’re going serve you drinks in clear plastic cups like some kids and they’re selling slush puppies for £15 with Bacardi!! not even Wrey & Nephews. 1 shot is £8 loool definitely for uncles to stunt. However It’s definitely a place that has an atmosphere and a vibe, but miss me with the FAT RATS.

Read moreI am a bit disappointed, after all the hype this restaurant has gotten. I mean the venue and the atmosphere was good, however were my friends and I were seated was in a cage, behind the stage, right next to the exit door that takes you to the toilets etc. So were kind of excluded from all the other ppl, and we barely heard the music from our corner, due to other guests on a bigger table being very loud.
Now to the service and food, it wasn't really what my friends and I were expecting, the menu was very vague, not much to choose from, but the prices of the food, were very expensive for the amount you'll get served. To be honest it's not worth the price, plus it wasn't to my liking either, as the lamb I received was very bland and flavourless and the jollof really soft and salty, I couldn't eat it. The service was really slow as far as I noticed there were only 2 servers serving for the whole place, which took the orders way longer then it should have been. And for them to include service charges to your bill, this should be optional, as the service was not to my standard, we shouldn't be forced to pay this charge if the service you get is not there. For common ketchup request we had asked someone twice with them ignoring us until we asked another server, who was friendly and served us the ketchup right away. The drink menu looks very posh, however, again not much of variation, aswell the price is a bit pricy. And certain cocktails i wanted werent available that evening, which was disappointing. I also told our server all the points mentioned above and that I was very unhappy having to pay for service charge when I didn't receive the service I should have gotten.
Verdict: I'll definitely will not be coming back to dine, however, entertainment wise I'll say its...
