Honest burgers was created by Phillip Eeles and Tom Barton in 2011. First restaurant was opened in Brixton Village. Luckily for us, they didn’t take the same business direction that GBk or Byron, to say some. That direction was not other than constantly changing meat suppliers for a better price at the cost of less meat quality and also size.
Today my wife and I went to Honest Covent Garden. I don’t remember when was the last time I enjoyed this much eating a burger, sincerely. I had medium-rare chilli burger. Luckily, our server, Gosia, didn’t say what I was expecting; “by law we can only cook our burgers well done” or some other excuses when someone ask for a medium-rare burger. In fact, she looked at me like saying; “that’s the right way for a burger”.
The meat quality was absolutely outstanding! Pinky, juicy, succulent, you name it. Really-really good! It came with, most probably, one of the best chips ever. Rosemary skin-on chips! (INCLUDED WITH THE BURGER)
I didn’t need to add any salt, pepper, ketchup or mayo to anything. All arrived perfectly seasoned. We also ordered onion rings with chipotle mayo.
There are just 3 things that, in my honest opinion, they could be better;
Table setting: when we arrived the table was ready and it only had a bottle of ketchup, mayo and some napkins. Nothing else. Onion rings arrived on their own. No cutlery, no side plates. I didn’t like that.
Chipotle mayo wasn’t spicy enough. I expect more kick and flavour.
Toilets weren’t good. Didn’t smell specially bad but they looked old and forgotten.
But please, don’t get me wrong. I am simply being honest. This was one of the best burgers I had for a very-very long time. Promised!
I will definitely come back again and I strongly recommend this place to truly enjoy an amazing burger.

I was absolutely won over with my burger here, after being knocked down with the seating of this place.
Days prior we had been planning our trip to London, and spotted this place near to the theatre we were visiting later that evening.
So my wife found it online, and think I saw a pic from the outside, then checked out the menu, which sounded good.
On the day, we got to London, after a walk about, found Honest Burgers for our lunch, and went inside, it was about 3.30 - which we thought would be in between the busy times. This is where my apprehension set in. There isn't a lot of seating* and what's there is very close together (2x4 seater, 3x2 seater, & 3/4 front window seats)
Our first table we sat at, when I got back from the bathroom, a chaps bottom was at my head height & about 6inches away, as he was sitting at the front window table which is elevated. Didn't much fancy that. Our food hadn't come, so we simply moved to the next table that was empty shortly after as the chap had left, they cleared the table fast, so we moved over, their was a couple to the left of me, which almost felt like we were dining with them lol, they left shortly after. And then our food came, we both ordered medium cooked(the small print read that they come cooked medium rare) Both burgers where fantastic, certainly up their with the best I have ever had. The rosemary chips were delicious. And they have a good drinks menu too, I...
Read moreWe have been to other honest burgers before, so we thought we'd try this one. Mistake. The staff there didn't really seem interested in us at all once we sat down. We waited a good few minutes after we were seated for a menu as the staff seemed busy chatting. Once we were ready to order, we put down our menus and attempted to get the attention of staff. They clearly noticed we were ready to order but continued faffing about with stuff not relating to serving any customer until another table's food was ready. One of the staff served the food, and took orders from a table seated after we were ready to order, before finally arriving to take our order. When the food arrived we were surprised to see our order slip nestled within the chips. Well, I say chips, but really we got mainly the small crispy bits of scraps. We didn't really trust the food, so ate very little of it. When trying to get the bill, we did actually contemplate just walking out, as we really couldn't get any staff attention despite asking excuse me please when there was a staff member near our table. All three members of staff ignored us. Staff here are very skilled in one thing -pretending they don't see the customer.
The main reason we go to honest burger is because it was started by two young guys in our area, they've done well and we want to support them, but this one experience was so horrible that we definitely would never go back there, and wouldn't recommend...
