Il Gelataio - Marchmont Street — Restaurant in London

As a first time visitor to London (From Calgary Canada) I was struck by the amount of amazing pizza options in the city. But most were full size pizzas. I was hoping to find a pizza by the slice place, and wouldn't you know it, my search located one just a block from my hotel. Duetto, blew me away! Amazing authentic Italian pizza slices with a large delicious selection to choose from. I opted for the pepperoni-jalapeno and roasted-vegetarian. I lived in London this summer and Duetto was my favorite place to grab food! Duetto (as it sounds) mainly offers pizza (by the slice) and scoops of amazing gelato! The pizza is incredible, and such good value- 2 slices at around ~5-6 pounds is more than enough. The toppings seemed to change each day, and there were always plenty of vegetarian options. The gelato is the best I've had in London, and although a bit pricier, I could never resist a scoop when I came in. Looked for gelato in the area and stumbled upon this gem. Hole in the wall, mom and pops shop with a nice selection of gelato. I had 3 flavors: banoffee, lemon marscarpone, and rum and raisin. Of the 3, I'd recommend the first.

The lemon had chunks of candied lemon rind, but struggled to taste the cheese. Rum raisin was just that, no surprises. Finally the banoffee had a strong banana flavor and chunks of pie crust, which added a nice texture to the gelato.
