My recent dining experience at Kenta, a small Japanese restaurant nestled in Hammersmith, London, was truly remarkable. From the moment I entered, the intimate ambiance and authentic decor transported me to the heart of Japan. The attention to detail in the restaurant's design added a touch of elegance, setting the stage for an exceptional culinary journey.
The menu at Kenta boasts a diverse selection of Japanese delicacies, ranging from traditional sushi and sashimi to inventive fusion dishes. Each plate was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authenticity. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, leaving a lasting impression on my palate.
One standout aspect was the impeccable service. The staff at Kenta demonstrated genuine warmth and knowledge, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring a seamless dining experience. It was evident that they took pride in delivering not just a meal but a journey through Japanese cuisine.
While Kenta's intimate size may limit the number of patrons it can accommodate, it undoubtedly adds to the charm of the establishment. Reservations are recommended, given the restaurant's growing popularity among local food enthusiasts.
In conclusion, Kenta is a hidden gem in Hammersmith, offering an authentic and memorable Japanese dining experience. Whether you are a seasoned sushi aficionado or a newcomer to Japanese cuisine, Kenta is sure to leave you with a newfound appreciation for the artistry and flavors of Japan. Read moreCame here for a quick bite before a gig at the Hammersmith Apollo and it was perfect - quick service, everything we ordered was excellent and the decor and vibe was so cosy and welcoming. We were lucky to get a walk in for 4 on a Friday night as it was quite busy. I’d had a massive craving for Japanese food all week and this meal was everything I hoped it would be: authentic, fresh, delicious and great value. We ordered tuna sashimi, yakitori, prawn tempura, soba salmon soup, crispy tuna roll, Tori karaage, Nasu salad, Wakame, prawn gyoza, kimchi and it was all so good. The karaage was exceptional, crisp and tasty batter and super moist inside. The raw aubergine was a new dish for me and was lighter and more fragrant than the super umami fried miso aubergine version which I love too. Everything we ordered was flavoursome and beautifully presented. The portions were generous and everything came out quickly to the table. We had a really great dinner and felt well looked after,...
Read moreWas recommended by a friend and this is now one of my absolute favourite restaurants around!
Having been there multiple times and have ordered takeaways, I have never been disappointed.
Food: Good decent portions, enough to be filling but not huge (except the bento which I can never finish in one sitting) Always tastes fresh and super delicious!
My favourites are: vegetable tempura udon noodle soup (pity they don’t have that on the deliveroo/Uber eats takeaway menus!), vegetable tempura bento which comes with miso soup as well, and the asparagus + green bean sushi which I’ve not found anywhere else and surprisingly so much tastier than it sounds.
Price: Average London prices. Not too expensive and not cheap either but definitely worth it for the food.
Restaurant experience: small, cosy little restaurant. Good service.
Update to review: Prices have soared and some dishes have doubled in price. No more NHS discount. Disappointed at...
