Restaurant Review: A Disappointing Experience
I recently visited la kanta, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. From the lackluster food to the mishandled drink order, this dining experience was disappointing from start to finish.
Food: Bland and Uninspired
The most glaring issue was the lack of flavor in the food. Each dish we tried seemed to lack basic seasoning, leaving us questioning whether any effort had been made to enhance the taste. Even staple dishes, which should have been safe choices, felt flat and uninspired. It was as though the kitchen skipped the most fundamental step of food preparation: making it taste good. For a restaurant that presumably prides itself on its menu, this was a glaring shortfall.
Drinks: A Major Mix-Up
We ordered frozen daiquiris, expecting a refreshing, flavorful cocktail to complement our meal. Instead, what arrived at our table was a smoothie. Not only was the drink completely wrong, but it also felt like a careless mistake that could have been easily avoided with a bit of attentiveness. To make matters worse, when we pointed this out, there was no apology or attempt to correct the order. The lack of customer care was striking and only added to our frustration.
Service: Indifferent and Uncaring
The service did little to salvage the experience. The staff seemed indifferent, and there was no attempt to make up for the poor food quality or the botched drink order. Friendly, attentive service can often redeem an otherwise mediocre experience, but sadly, that wasnât the case here.
Ambience: A Missed Opportunity
While the setting itself wasnât unpleasant, the overall atmosphere failed to leave a positive impression. It felt like the restaurant lacked character or attention to detail, much like the food.
Final Thoughts
Dining out should be an enjoyable experience that offers good food, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, this establishment failed on all counts. From flavorless food to incorrect drink orders and indifferent service, it was a visit weâd rather not repeat. I hope management takes these issues seriously because the potential for improvement is there, but it requires immediate action and dedication.

Read moreVisited here on a Saturday night at 9pm. Never tried and went in as we thought it was quite a busy spot thinking it was popular. Boy we were wrong.
Starting from the beginning of the experience, it was hard to differentiate who was staff there. It took a while to be served in terms of taking order for food and drink. As we werenât hungry, we ordered fried squid (ÂŁ7.50) and the mixed grilled kebab (ÂŁ23.00) to share between 2 people. We arenât big eaters to begin with but the portion size was pittance in comparison to other Turkish places weâve visited in the surrounding area. Not only the portion size, the flavour was lacking - to note, we found that the lamb kofte tasted more like a beef burger, just reshaped into a kofte.
About the busyness of the restaurant, it just turns out people were more just waiting for their food than anything. Overheard the neighbouring table of 2 had been waiting for their food for 30 mins and another table of 3 were also stating theyâve been waiting for some time also. As for our table of 2, it luckily didnât take long. However, part of our order was incorrect, also the same with the neighbouring table.
Service is lacking in the sense of the attention the staff give to their customers - no sort of apology was given for mistakes. I struggle to believe these existing reviews are legit (I was intrigued to see if I would get to know who Tanya was as her name is mentioned in 90% of these reviews but nope!). It may have been a bad night for the restaurant as the day we visited, it was the same day where the past two 1 star reviews came up as I checked whilst we were at the restaurant.
For atmosphere, the restaurant is nicely decorated but the music was very loud.
For ÂŁ46 for a starter, main, a soft drink and a alcohol + mixer, it was really not worth it. Personally would...
Read moreWent for my sisters birthday brunch on the weekend and i can only say it is not worth the money whatsoever. £45 PP for 2 courses- the halloumi came out cold for 3 people and had to send back- came back cold again. The mains were so small we ended up at McDonalds by the end of it as was starving.
Was told it was prosecco and cocktails but no processo was served it was sparkling wine and it was absolutely horrible.
Didnt start serving drinks till 20mins after we arrived but also stopped serving drinks 30mins before the end so you dont even get the full 2 hours of bottomless drinks. We paid extra for 4 shots and they had the cheek to add service charge to the shots. We refused to pay and was finally told it would be taken off after a lot of back and forth and attitude by the manager.
They also brought the bill midway through to pay and got an attitude when we werent ready to pay yet (as a table of 6 we wanted some time to work out the payments etc ) It was a garage brunch but for at least 15mins they played Dolly Parton and other genre songs and had to be told its a garage brunch so play garage music!! When garage was on it was so quiet you couldnt hear but we did notice they had the same 5 songs on repeatâŚ
Lastly- which bears no reflection on venue- i caught a lady urinating in the sink in front of everyone in the queue. Just to top the whole experience offđł
Would not recommend at all, not a pleasant experience and not worth the...
