Awful! We went in to try fish and chips and were severely disappointed. We were thinking about taking the special offer (a fish and chips menu), that was written outside and when we asked the woman working there about it, instead of politely telling us that it was only takeaway, she asked us to read out what it said, at the bottom of the offer. Furthermore when we walked over to the counter and were ordering our food, the woman was very fast, which was a good thing. But she was rushing, which made us feel unwelcomed and she didn't close the boxes properly which made all the chips fall out. MIND YOU THERE WERE ONLY TWO PEOPLE IN THE STORE, WHO WERE ALREADY EATING. Luckily we got a paperbag with it, so at least our chips didn't fall on the ground. When we got home, we were very excited to try the food, but not only was the fish unseasoned, the fish also tasted very old as If the store was allergic to freshness and WORST OF ALL it was SOGGY. The chips also followed suit and were crying for salt and crispness. TO TOP IT ALL OF THERE WERE MULTIPLE HAIRS IN OUR BOXES. I mean I feel kind of sorry if the staff had hair loss, but STILL. I can still feel the disgusting taste on my mouth and not even a litre of water could wash it off. I am sorry for the fishes who had to die for this. Love the coke though.

Its not fair to rate a place when the country is in lockdown and therefore the restaurant is only serving takeaway delivery and collection orders. On a Saturday night it was the only chippy I could find open near Notting Hill. They had a problem with the signal on their card machine which after numerous attempts with different cards left me feeling embarrassed as I had no cash. Anyway problem solved as there was a cash machine 5 minutes away. I ordered a Plaice and Chips which was cooked freshly for me along with mushy peas. Mickys is very reasonably priced considering its location, and tasty too. I met some lovely regulars who usually dined in and seemed to be very loyal to the place (not plaice ! ). They had some great set meal deals around the ÂŁ5 mark . Id go back if I was in the area but definitely take some cash next time.

⚠️ This venue has no restrooms! ⚠️ Customers are advised to use the restrooms at the pub next door. Decent chips, especially if you are on a low-sodium diet. Unfortunately I polluted some of them with the provided "vinegar". According to the worn label on the bottle, the offensive liquid was a "non-brewed condiment" consisting of water, acetic acid, caramel colour and salt. The anonymous ketchup was slightly better. The fish was crispy, but could have benefitted from having its scales removed prior to breading. The butter toast was made with margarine. Unfortunately most soft drinks contained artificial sweeteners, but that seems to be a UK issue, for which this venue is not to blame. They did have cans of Polish coca cola, which only contained real sugar.

I wasn’t going to leave this review because I just normally don’t review, but after my second interaction with them I wanted to.

I came in the other night and got a beef and onion pie with chips and curry sauce. Paid with a 20£ note and got change. The food was honestly terrible. Pie was awful, frozen would be better. Maybe it was frozen, (it was wrapped in plastic). If it is they should change their brand. Chips were fine but the curry sauce was curry water. Either powdered or they’re so cheap they are watering down an actual curry sauce. The food was honestly trash, like, I literally threw it away. Again, don’t normally review tho and it was cheap so whatever.

Anyways, two days later I went to pay at a restaurant and realized my 10 note I got as change was Scottish pounds. I know it came from here because I used the only 20£ note I had at Micky’s and also had no other cash in my wallet after besides the coin change and 10 note I got as change. I know it’s not a lot of money, but I’m traveling and not British and I didn’t want to pay an exchange fee for such a small note. I went back in and figured they’d just swap and assume that no one would lie about such a thing. Well, wrong. They were super rude and denied it, kept asking who helped me (what am I supposed to remember the name or have a mental picture of every cashier I interact with while traveling?). I think they mentioned why would they have Scottish pounds in their register and I said actually I’m pretty sure the guy pulled the change out of his pocket…

I kinda feel like he mistakenly took a Scottish note and figured since I’m not British I wouldn’t notice or otherwise wouldn’t be able to remember how I got it. But who knows, maybe it was a genuine mistake and he took the bill without realizing and also gave it back to me as change without noticing. Either way, they should have at least been polite in declining it and not so outright rude. Again, it’s a small note and I’m not from here, and it’s such a random thing to lie about, like why make it a big deal? If it’s so easy to exchange, as they kept saying, why not just help someone out that’s not from here and swap me notes and handle it yourself? Even just to be a good person? Or maybe if they had politely explained exactly where I could have taken it to exchange and been apologetic I wouldn’t have cared as much. But whatever, they were just plain rude people.

So, if you want some crummy food and bad customer service, you’ve found your place. Don’t forget to get the...

Got served very quickly by a friendly waitress and by quick I mean I ordered , Sat down , the food was in front of me a minute later .

The fish was OK the fries portion could have been a little bit more generous considering its ÂŁ8.95 for fish chips and a small bottle of water .

The table had salt and pepper, ketchup, and vinegar. They also include a wedge of lemon which I thought was nice not having to ask for it .

When I asked for a fish and chips meal, I got given the large sized meal. it would have been nice if they didn't assume I wanted the large portion or at least asked.

The price of a normal fish and chips meal is shown on their table menus as ÂŁ5.95 although they do have the large meal too.

All in all its an okay place with a good number of seats , friendly waitress and ok fish and chips. I wouldn't go as far as calling it the best fish and chips in London though. I Would have given it 3 stars if it weren't for the pricing.

Make sure you are clear when you place your order, and check your bill. and If you are eating in, I think it might be a good idea to pay first then sit down and eat. Since if you ask for the bill after finishing your meal you might (as I was) get asked to go and pay at the counter anyway.

So to summarize.... food is ok, service friendly , pricing is ok if you order the medium size fish. So again do double check your order and pay before you eat...

Had a great dinner at Micky's after the football last weekend.

Traditional, no frills premises both inside and out, but the food is quality and that's what really matters.

It was busy at the time, (always a good sign) but one of the guys seated us and kept us informed he wouldn't be long taking our order. True to his word, within 10 mins we were seated and ordered.

Ended up going for the BBQ half roast chicken & chips with a side of onion rings.

While waiting for our food, we were brought our drinks, followed shortly by the onion rings to keep us ticking over. I must say, the guy who was serving us was very attentive and apologised for the delay explaining they were busy. (in truth, it wasn't much of a wait at all, but it was a nice touch).

Food was really good. Onion rings were really crispy and tasty as were the chips (proper takeaway chips). The chicken was delicious too, and the portions were generous, especially the chicken. Very happy with price as well.

I thought all the staff working there that night were absolutely sound. Good at their jobs, but also very customer focused, friendly and polite. They each made an effort to have a chat and engage with you and make you feel valued, really nice personal touch.

In short - Good food, good value, good staff. Couldn't ask for more, and I'll defo visit again when up...
