Had a great time at other Mr Foggs venues so was looking forward to visiting this one.

Nice decor and impressive venue but unfortunately it seemed like this was just a fancy veneer.

At entrance, no friendly welcome like at other venues, empty reception, weren’t asked if we wanted our coats taken and bearing in mind we had walked through the rain here it would have been nice not to have to take them off at the table and put wet coats on the floor.

Had to squeeze through to the table and as others have previously said they aren’t particularly comfortable. At no point through my visit did I feel comfortable at the table or able to converse with my partner easily.

Was asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, the old trick question so they charge £4.50 unless you say the magic word “tap”. They’re charging enough for the cocktails they don’t need to resort to tricks. I’ve been to plenty of cocktail bars and more often than not we are given tap water once seated, also often with a small snack of some kind.

As for the drinks, I can’t say the menu had a lot of drinks either of us were excited to try but settled on the two pictured. Mine was supposed to have chili absinthe dandelion and burdock but just tasted overwhelmingly like whisky for £19. It’s quirk was that you turn the valve and pour the drink yourself. This had potential if it was used this as some kind of slow absinthe drip but alas that was all there was to it. The other I think was supposed to have a peach garnish but just had an edible flower. The foam was nice but the drink underneath average. Would probably be better served in a coupe so you can drink the two together rather than making your way through the thick sweet foam and then the bland drink. Again £16.50

The biggest issue ( or at least I thought was the biggest issue until writing this review and remembering the rest ) was that we finished our first drinks and then had absolutely no service for a good 30+ minutes. We weren’t keen on a second drink anyway but this solidified the decision. After trying to get attention for way too long we ended up just getting up and walking to the bar to pay and leave.

Ultimately, the price and the experience didn’t match. Either charge less or up the quality. Snacks and tap water give a perceived increase in value at little to no cost to the venue,...

So our second Mr Foggs location of the evening and our fourth of our own personal voyage through his locations. Each offers and adds to the theme yet maintains its own identity and style, cocktails unique and bespoke to each location with classics available across all. Mr Fogg's Residence probably one of our favourites due to its more relaxed atmosphere and comfortable seating, a great way to finish the night and paired ideally with the earlier visit to the House of Botanicals which was more light and airy and suited the late afternoon/early evening sun although would happily spend a whole evening at either should the wallet allow.

This location and it is a lovely area features cocktails that are a tad more expensive than the others we have visited and they themselves are certainly not inexpensive. However drinks are suitably theatric, beautifully presented and divinely flavourful. Most are in the £16-£19.50 range but pay attention as there was at least one with premium aged spirits that was £36 and another sharing (for 4) that was £70 and if like me the small type on the menu and the suitably lit but dim room it can be hard to see

Again we enjoyed a bowl of tasty olives that go well with the cocktails, this time I decided to have some nicely salted anchovies with bread sticks which again paired wonderfully.

The service started off slightly less attentive than the other locations we've visited, a little more time to sink into the comfortable armchairs and admire the theatrics of the decoration of Mr Foggs home. As the night drew on we were well looked after, guests of Mr Fogg's popped in and out for a quick libation or two and after a suitable stay not wanting to overstay our welcome we bid farewell. Before we left however as celebrating my belated birthday my partner and I presented with a complimentary shot which was most welcome and a lovely finish to our visit.

Most definitely we will return, our voyage however takes us next to the Society of Exploration followed by The Apothecary where again we expect to be tantalised and teased with a new and expansive cocktail selection whilst immersing ourselves in...

My honest feedback would be 10stars! I've visited other Mr Foggs bars and love them all. The experience is different each time but always amazing. From the service, to the interior, the drinks and ambience. But this visit at Mayfair was top and amazing! Loved our time here, we were welcomed and felt just relaxed being there. Andrea who looked after us provided the best service anyone could ever ask for. She was attentive, the table was always cleaned and finished drinks were taken away to ensure that the table was neat. And can I say a big thank you to Andrea for recommending me and my friend such lovely and tasty drinks. She really is knowledgeable and explain everything so well, I'm not sure if i ever came across such a fantastic staff. Before we even asked, she already pointed us to where the ladies were at from the start, it's all the small details that really counts and make such a memorable experience. Very, kind, friendly and didn't rush us at all. I would visit again just because we had such a lovely evening and of course the drinks at Mr Foggs were great, good quality and unique. Andrea just made it extra special by such wonderful service. I cannot recommend a drink in specific because I love them all and would go back to have exactly the same drinks, just feels...
