Me and my group of friends are absolutely disgusted by the treatment we have received from the security subcontractors from ‘Front Line’ on the night of 03/08/2024.
23:50pm we call our local spoons to ask what time last orders are and they confirmed it is 00:00 midnight and we will have 20 mins to have our drinks.
23:55pm we arrive at the entrance, we get asked for our ID’s, one of the security guards pulls out their phone and proceeds to say they are closed. We Ofcourse knew this wasn’t true as 5 minutes prior it was confirmed to us by the spoons itself we can come and have one drink.
The security guards proceed to be argumentative insisting that the premises is already closed and we cannot come in and then calls over another guard. They went inside to check with the manager, we called the number again which confirmed we can still come in as 23:56pm.
The other guard comes back and waves us in, with attitude our IDs get checked and we get let through.
We then grab a drink, sit down at 00:03 and immediately the security comes and says you have 10 mins.
We were the only table inside to be told this, they did not approach any other tables to say this same information.
A minute after they left, the manager of the spoons approaches us to apologise (bless her she was really sweet) but she recognised we were hassled from the very moment we tried to enter the establishment and felt the need to apologise on their behalf which she shouldn’t have needed to do if they had just done their jobs properly.
Ofcourse at 00:15 they came back and shooed everyone out like sheep.
We were left so disappointed and felt targeted for absolutely no reason, we were not drunk or disorderly but merely wanted to celebrate some good news before splitting and going home.
Front line security need to look into the behaviours of their employees, be taught some manners and respect and also have their competence measured in telling the time.
Used to love this local, but the sheer embarrassment we experienced is probably enough to make us not want to come...
Read moreOn 15/05/2021 at 5:10p m me and my partner visited the pub. We are regular customers there and overall we are very very happy with the great service. Polite staff , helpful and always with smile. Recently there is one rude manager working there, I think for the last few months, which I saw a few times to shout at customers with very rude attitude and tone. Today, me and my partner waited outside at the pub as usual and waited to be seated. We were approached by the tall blond manager. She didn't greet us politely and she didn't smile. She said in a pushy way to fill the trace forms, which we did. The moment we were shown our table for non smokers, we saw that two girls which were waited before us decided to change their table and sat down on the table for smokers. In that exact moment we thought we will be given that very table, however the tall blond female manager said to us that we are not allowed to request smoking table, but the girls before us are allowed to change their mind and allowed to choose table for themselves. That was confusing as an excuse. Then I was told by the manager that my facial expression is not good enough and I am "rolling my eyes" so that's why its our responsibility to wait and see if someone leave any potential smoking table, and we need to keep an eye and change it by ourselves. She said with tone, loud voice and very rude attitude that we are responsible to look for smoking table. We declined and then she said: "I am not serving you, please leave the pub" in an extremely rude way and ignoring attitude. That's how I have seen her before to treat other customers too. Then my partner decide to go and speak about the issue with the other tall blond manager and she also said that we need to leave. My question is, is this how Wetherspoon now treating its regular customers? Is that normal attitude? Why do you keep and pay to rude...
Read moreI am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding an incident that occurred at your Weatherspoons location on [6/11/23] during my recent visit.
A group of friends and I had gathered at your establishment to enjoy a drink. However, I was approached by one of your staff members Brendon (manager) and was informed that I needed to leave the premises due to not having my ID with me. I respect the importance of adhering to the legal age restrictions for serving alcohol, but I couldn't help but notice that our group was the only one being checked for identification. If It requires ID to enter, why not check it at the front door before letting us in?
It was particularly distressing to me that this action seemed to single out our group, as all of us are of Asian descent. I can't help but wonder whether this was a case of racial profiling, and if so, it is both unacceptable and deeply troubling. As a patron of your establishment, I believe it is my right to enjoy the same privileges and treatment as any other customer.
I understand that it is essential to maintain the safety and legality of your establishment, but it should be done fairly and without bias. I urge you to review your policies and procedures to ensure that all customers are treated equally and that actions taken are not based on their racial or ethnic background.
I kindly request a formal investigation into this incident and, if appropriate, a sincere apology from your team. Furthermore, I would appreciate knowing the outcome of this investigation and any actions taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
Weatherspoons has always been a place where people come to relax and enjoy themselves, and I believe it should remain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons. I trust that you will take my complaint seriously and work to rectify...
