This was by far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, we were treated with clear disrespect and singled out in a way that felt racially motivated — and frankly, racist.
I’ve been to P.F. Chang’s locations in the U.S. multiple times and never had an issue. The service was always professional, respectful, and consistent. That’s why I was shocked at how we were treated at the Leicester Square branch in London — the difference was night and day.
We were served cold food, and after asking for it to be warmed up, it was brought back multiple times with less food each time. No explanation. When we questioned it, no one took accountability — not the staff, and certainly not the manager, who refused to take us seriously or acknowledge anything wrong had happened.
What stood out most was the way we were treated compared to other customers. The two waiters serving us handed us our plates instead of placing them down respectfully — something they did not do to anyone else around us. Everyone else was served properly. We were the only table singled out, and the treatment felt deliberately disrespectful.
No one came to our table to check on us — we had to go find staff ourselves just to be heard. When we asked to speak to someone, we were told, “We’re busy with someone else,” as if we didn’t matter. We were made to feel like we didn’t belong, like our presence was an inconvenience.
To top it off, they insisted we pay for food we didn’t even eat. The way we were treated — with suspicion, coldness, and disregard — made it clear that race played a role in how we were seen and served. We were calm and respectful throughout, and yet we were treated like a burden.
This wasn’t just bad service — it was racism, plain and simple. I’ve experienced P.F. Chang’s in the U.S., and this London location fails to meet even the most basic standards of decency.
Avoid this branch if you value respect, equality, and proper service. This place needs serious training,...
Read moreA group of 7 of us had booked this venue after hearing and reading such glowing reviews. The entire group had been looking forward to visiting here for a dear friends birthday, all was going well till we arrived at our allocated time of the booking at 6pm only to be confronted with a huge queue of people waiting to get in , these were a mix of pre book and others that were willing to wait for a space, considering that we had booked a table we tried to speak to the front of house team only to be told we had to wait till tables were available, totally understand to some degree but waited and waited till we were finally allocated a table after nearly an hours wait. The waiting staff were brilliant especially Silky she is an absolute credit to the team, she was very helpful and attentive with us assisting with making choices of food and drink. The food was of a high standard very flavoursome. After some time we had a member of the management come over and ask us to hurry along as they needed the table for another group, now this is were the whole experience turned slightly sour, we hadn't finished our meal or drinks and to be told that we must leave because we had outstayed our supposed time of 2 hrs, but this was never explained to us when we booked on the email confirmation or when we arrived, I politely explained to the manager that it was very unfair to ask us to leave especially as we had to wait nearly an hour after our allocated booking to get a table, she didn't seem to pleased with my reply but finally accepted that when we had finished we would happily leave so the table can be allocated to others. Note for the management I would suggest maybe when sending a booking confirmation that it is made clear with big groups that there is a maximum time allowed to dine. Overall we did have a great time here hence we will be back, Thank you to...
Read moreWhile P.F. Chang's does a few things that are really very good, there are others that are much to be desired; and for an international brand, that's unacceptable. We were honestly expecting far more.
We'd heard a lot about their staters, particularly The Original Dynamite Shrimp. And in light of how good both this and the wings were, we wouldn't be surprised if these have been priced more than the mains on account of their popularity. Whatever the case, we can't think of another restaurant where such an anomaly exists.
As for our biggest disappointment, then it was the abysmal service. It's been a long time since we've left a restaurant so dejected! Allow us to elaborate re three orders: the main, dessert, and the request for water: We were forced to reorder one of the mains after the staff member, who initially took our order, was never seen again! This same dish then turned up warm. After bringing this to their attention, we were literally asked if it would be okay for the dish to be reheated (we kid you not)! The dessert took 25 mins to arrive nearing the end of the night when the restaurant was almost deserted. We had to replace the order after the initial staff member did a similar Houdini act. As for the one we asked water of, he decided to walk over to his colleague for a quick natter before meandering off into the night with the water barely an arm's length away! Needless to say, we were forced to reorder! While there are far better eateries in the Zone 1 area, P.F.Chang's is worth visiting for a quick stop over for those starters.
Of course, if the service is as poor as we experienced, you can always forgo the 12.5% discretionary service charge.
