We were in line queuing up to have dinner at wagamamas till my partner pointed out the amazing smell that was lingering around in the street… she pointed at Pasta and Browns and said “I think it’s coming from there” we walked across the road and sniffed out the air haha and decided to ditch wagamamas and asked for a table.
We were both fasting for ramadan and there was about 40mins till sunset (for us to break our fast). The tall young fella serving us was quite nice and once I told him of our situation he kindly said that he’d take care of things with putting our orders through closer to the time of eating.
The bruschetta was lovely and so was the garlic bread… a bit of a shame as the bottom of the garlic bread was a little soggy yet it was still delicious!
Onto the mains. We did wait quite a while for them roughly 45 minutes but they did not disappoint. Being a huge mushroom lover my creamy pasta with chicken and wild mushroom was awesome. My partner also enjoyed her lasagne which was rich in sauce and cheesy very much. We had a side of fries which were very small in portion but oh well, when the pasta is that good who can complain.
The bill came to around £85 which isn’t the cheapest but you’re in town and enjoying good food so who cares right.
Overall very nice food and will pop by here again, perhaps to try their seafood linguini which I kept seeing leaving the...
Read moreMy girlfriend went with her family for what was meant to be a nice meal. It turned out to be one of the most awful services she had ever experienced. Bearing in mind that this is a place she had already been to with me before and we had no issue.
This is a note of her experience: the service was extremely slow for their table in particular, they waited 20 minutes before a waitress came to take the order. There had been other predominantly white customers who were seated after them that had already been served their main course - how is this even possible?!! She had been looking around for someone to serve her, her brother and her mum BUT not a single waiter came over to take the order until she had to get up and call them over. By the time they were served their main course, which was a pizza, pasta and steak, those said white customers who had been seated after them had already left. This whole ordeal took over TWO HOURS and in the end they had ordered dessert which never came and rather than speaking up and asking for their dessert my girlfriend asked for the check and to her surprise the final bill hadn’t even placed the order for their desserts.
If you are eating here be mindful if you are from BAME community because this restaurant does not know how to treat everyone with the...
Read moreOrdered pizza and lasagne with salad and house fries. The pizza was ok, nothing to moan about just ok. House fries needed seasoning as we're pretty tasteless. The problem we had was with our lasagne. It was not fresh,it was re heated and therefore pretty heavy, oily heavy and just about ordinary. As I was eating, I thought I found a very dry bit of pasta in my meal,it was actually a shard of plastic, probably from the heated packaging it came from. I don't like making a fuss, so quietly called the waitress over and showed her. She conferred with the chef, and hence told me it was from the box the cheese was in. I didn't believe that for one minute. I think a simple sorry would have been in order and been honest about the fact it wasn't fresh. The waitress took the lasagne off the bill, but didn't seem at all sorry. I feel if you are going out to a London Restaurant, you should be served up fresh food using great ingredients and being honest to your customers is a must. Many other decent Italians around the corner. Wanted them to care more than they did. Very...
