We recently had a meal at Harrods, where my wife opted for sushi while I chose to try Pasta Evangelists by Perbellini. I ordered the classic cacio e pepe, and taste-wise, it didn’t disappoint—the pasta was very good, perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned.
However, the portion size was quite underwhelming, especially considering the price tag of £35 per plate. For that price, you expect to be full and satisfied, not left wondering if you should get dessert just to feel like you had a full meal. As Swiss customers, we couldn’t help but compare—back home, a portion of pasta like that would cost around 15 CHF. At £35, you’re paying for the fancy setting more than the food itself.
The atmosphere also didn’t help. The hall is elegant but far from cosy—too much noise, not much warmth. I also had a glass of wine, which brought my total to about £50. That would be a reasonable price if you actually left the table feeling full.
On the bright side, the staff at the Italian counter were friendly and polite—much more so than the ones at the sushi stand. That said, there’s definitely a sense of being judged by appearance rather than being welcomed for who you are. A bit more warmth and a few extra grams of pasta would’ve made a big difference.
In short: good food, overpriced, not enough of it. Worth trying once, but don’t...
Read moreI had a wonderful meal at Pasta Evangelists inside Harrods — it was definitely on the expensive side, but worth every penny. The quality of the food and the overall experience made it well worth it. I ordered the eggplant tartine, and it was absolutely delicious — simple, flavorful, and beautifully done. You could really taste the richness of the olive oil and the freshness of the ingredients. Everything was balanced and cooked perfectly. My mom ordered the Caprese pizza, which was light, fresh, and full of flavor. We also had the garlic bread, which honestly looked dry at first — but it totally surprised us. It was warm, soft, and packed with garlic flavor. One of the best garlic breads I’ve had in a while! The service was great — the staff were attentive, friendly, and professional. I also loved the style and layout of the seating in the Harrods food hall — elegant yet relaxed, with just the right amount of luxury. Overall, it was a delicious experience from start to finish. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a high-quality meal while shopping or...
Read moreI have given this company so many chances, because i fancy something slightly healthier, different and fresh and just thought maybe i picked the wrong dishes.
Got delivery instead and thought the lasagne didn't look as i expected-ie a nice crispy cheese top etc. Then see the date on the pasta! 8 days old? I don't have a problem with frozen food but why market food as fresh and serve this grey mess. The good thing is there were lots of mushrooms and the other dish was okay, but seriously £30 for 2 dishes and receiving this frozen pot of rubbish. I'm sure they'll start removing the stickers now but nethertheless customers need to know.
Please note this is delivery, not inside the restaurant so i can't comment on that. I urge people to go and have a quick look at the photo they show you of the mushroom lasagne! I expect a difference but blimey i was well and truly catfished...
