Paul Le Café Review
Rating: 1/5
My recent visit to Paul Le Café was highly disappointing. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that the experience was not going to live up to expectations.
First and foremost, the sponge cake I ordered was far from fresh. It tasted as if it had been sitting out for more than a night, lacking the soft, moist texture that one would expect from a well-made cake. This was a major letdown, especially considering that freshness is a basic expectation when buying baked goods.
The staff's behavior further dampened the experience. They were unhelpful and seemed disinterested in assisting customers. Adding to this, the staff were conversing amongst themselves in a language other than English, which made it feel unwelcoming and created a disconnect with the customers.
The state of the restaurant was another point of concern. The place was dirty, with food scraps and paper littered across the floor. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority, which is unacceptable for any food establishment.
Overall, the combination of stale cake, poor service and lack of cleanliness made this visit a thoroughly disappointing experience. I would not recommend Pau Le Café based...
Read moreOrdered food and drinks for my family on a very hot day and specifically asked if my husband’s drink was captured correctly as an Iced Latte, as the order looked wrong on the screen. The cashier said it was indeed an iced latter. We moved to the drinks collection area where my 3 year old daughter’s orange juice and my iced matcha were ready, but my husband’s drink was not ready. My daughter was tired from standing and hungry so we sat down so she could eat while waiting for the iced latte. A waiter came to tell us we can’t sit because the price of food for eating in is extra. I asked if we could just sit till the iced latte was done. The same waiter insisted my husband’s drink was done, but pointed to a hot latte. We said we ordered an iced latte. Eventually when the iced latte was done we left and I opened up my takeaway where the salad I ordered did not come with a fork. What is the point of service staff if the can’t put together a takeaway order with utensils and a serviette? The staff were generally in a rush and not treating customers politely (e.g someone’s card didn’t go through and the cashier said they weren’t allowed to sit till the order...
Read moreAfter a long day of touring the Tower of London and Temple area, I looped back toward the Tower for a light dinner. PAUL Three Quays fit the ticket satisfactorily with its selection of pastries, sandwiches, and soups. Because I arrived near day's end (and no doubt because of the restaurant's longevity and popularity), many of the offerings, such as the soup, was sold out at that time.
The croque monsieur filled my stomach, and the server even warmed it up for me. Because it was near to closing, the sandwich didn't taste as though it had come fresh from the oven but was still palatable. The super-sized macaroon served as the perfect dessert--palm-sized, soft shells encasing rich, cocoa filling--ending the entire dining experience on a sweet note.
PAUL Three Quays has a great location near the Tower of London and even outside seating where you can enjoy the view of the river and watching passersby. If you're planning to be in that area for the day, it would make an...
