We recently visited Zizzi Tower Hill, we have always enjoyed meals out at Zizzi and this was our first visit to the Tower Hill branch. We ordered starters which were delicious and then had ordered their new vegan meatball pizza and looked forward to trying it (along with another vegan pizza and a risotto) when the pizza was brought over by the waitress I noticed the pizza that was brought over had a burrata on the top, I spoke with the waitress and said the order was incorrect and I had in fact ordered a vegan pizza (mistakes happen and its nothing that couldn't have been easily rectified).....her response was oh well i'll just get the cheese taken off and you can eat it!!!! I think not!!!! To say I was shocked by her comment was an understatement!! Would similar statements be made to others with dietary requirements i wonder?? Such as oh ill just pick the pork or beef off of it and then it'll be fine???!! Oh you hsvevsn allergy? Let me just take the allergen off and it'll be OK??!! Luckily this was noted by the manager Tristan, and he quickly approached our table apologising for the mistake and ensured a new pizza would be made. Tristan brought the pizza over himself and was very apologetic and ensured the rest of our visit we felt totally looked after and welcomed. There was a family sitting two tables from us, we hadn't noticed them previously, what caught our attention was the waiter shouting at them 'what do you want me to do about it then?' This obviously caught the attention of close by diners, no idea what had happened but the family seemed calm so everyone was wondering the need for the outburst from the waiter! This waiter then clearly irritated proceeded to stomp Around the restaurant red in the face slamming napkins and cuttlery on empty tables, this made everyone feel really uncomfortable. Tristan was once again over to that family to save the day! We noticed he made them feel just as special as we felt, Tristan seems to be like a great manager just what a shame he doesn't have such good staff and he's having to continually make amends with customers for what is quite frankly poor service from the other staff. If Tristan wouldn't have been there that evening i think we would have had to really complain to Zizzi about the poor service. On the plus side food was really delicious, thankyou to the chefs! And thankyou once again to Tristan the manager for making us feel so...
Read moreI’ve been to multiple branches of Zizzi now, and the food is always great, with this time being no exception. However the service in this location was something I’ve never seen before. It was shocking.
When I arrived with a friend we weren’t told about the set menu option and just given the regular menu. The server who greeted us seemed uninterested and I heard him be much more interactive with another customer. He made a comment about her looks that made us all feel uneasy and just shouldn’t have happened. She looked like she was with her parents and was uncomfortable with what the waiter seemed to perceive as a compliment about her looks.
We ended up with a different waiter who seemed to be doing his best with what he was given. He gave us the set menu which we ordered off, and my friend had just finished her starter while I was still eating when her plate was taken and immediately replaced with the main. There was no time to relax or enjoy our drinks. I barely had a chance to finish my starter when my main came and the waiter had to switch the plates at the table.
Multiple things on the menu weren’t available. We were told they were out of things like raspberries and cherries and therefore unable to make multiple things we asked about. The waiter didn’t even seem to know until he disappeared into the kitchen only to come back later to tell us.
I heard the waiter tell another group of customers that they had no ravioli too.
I was told just after our main that they couldn’t make the cheesecake I had ordered so instead I ordered the chocolate melt which looked like they just threw it on the plate last minute when it came out.
I heard the same waiter who had made the earlier comment ask a group of teenagers to leave a good review. If he had asked me I would have said sure I’ll leave a review.
All in all a...
Read moreTerrible; don't waste your time or money. I had just come off a late walking tour and was very hungry. They are open until 11 and I had pasta in mind as a reward for sore feet. I ordered the goat cheese ravioli, which is normally a favorite of mine. It was not what I expected. The portion was extremely small. The pasta was tough at the edges as if it had been frozen and reheated multiple times. This time they must have forgotten to reheat it, though. It was cool to the touch on the outside and the cheese on the inside was barely above room temperature. The tomato sauce was also cold. Not cool. Cold. The plate came out within 15 minutes of ordering so I don't understand how it became cold from the kitchen to my table. I ate just over half of the pasta because most other eateries in the area were closing and I didn't want to go hungry all night. I am extremely disappointed and appalled at how rude and loud the waiter was when I quietly protested the cost of the water, which I was not told there would be a charge for. I have been in town for days and haven't been charged for water yet. I didn't ask for bottled water. The waiter responded to my complaint with, "I don't know how they do things where you're from but we pay for the things we use here." He also huffed and acted personally insulted when I asked how much garlic was in the tomato sauce. Terrible food and terrible service. There is another Italian restaurant two blocks away (Salotto 31) that closes at 10:30. I wish I had walked the extra few steps and paid a few extra pounds a plate. I am starting to get sick to my stomach as I type. This is going to be...
