Pepe's — Restaurant in London

If I had the choice I would give Zero star. I ordered family deal to take away. When I got home I took food out and noticed that it was burnt. I called and asked for manager but I was told that there was no manager this evening. I asked for a supervisor on the floor and then a guy James came on the phone and he said there is no driver, you have to come and show me the chicken so I can replace it. I told him that I am 6-7 miles away but I will let u know. Let me call back, when I called back he said I will not replace the chicken. I have asked the chef he said it was not burnt and he kept saying you are wasting my time we are very busy. I asked me to give me a mobile number and I can send you picture of the burnt chicken but he said I do not have any number to give. You have to come to show me and then I will replace only that part of chicken which is burnt. I told him that I cannot trust u. Fuel prices are sky high what if I come there & you then change again. He kept saying we are very busy and don’t waste his time. He hung up on me when I was talking to him. He was very rude. I got ripped off as I paid almost £22 for burnt chicken family meal. Is what it is, 2 Stars is all it's worth and that second star only just sneaks in as the chicken was decent to be fair. £3.40 for 5 semi-burnt onion rings, FIVE onion rings, I call that daylight robbery! The burger I would describe as unique in the world of burgers, rubbery and reminded me of one of those tinned burgers, rank and well overpriced (worth a quid if that)! Chips were very small for a large! Beans were cold and came in the same sized container as the sauces, take my advice, Pepe, KFC same price, hot and a lot more flavour than yours, look and learn. Last and by no means least, the corn, a whole cob and actually not that bad but over 2 quid for one cob, come on, that's a rip off.

So overall, Pepes Piri Piri is pretty poor but not for the quality of the chicken which was quite nice but for the value for money (over 20 quid) and for the quality of the other items in this evenings meal. Overpriced and quality wise, well, it was all a bit bleugh to be honest. No more...

I’m really disappointed with the service at this place. Trying to reach them by phone is nearly impossible—it just rings endlessly, and their voicemail box is constantly full. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re trying to confirm hours or place an order.

To make matters worse, their online information is outdated. The shop times on Google and Uber Eats are incorrect, leading to wasted trips or canceled orders. If they’re unable to keep basic details updated, it shows a lack of care for their customers.

Lastly, it seems they’re severely understaffed. Even when I’ve visited in person, it’s clear they don’t have enough employees to handle the demand. This leaves customers waiting far too long, and their needs often go unmet.
