Actually, there was no issue with the food — it was perfectly fine. However, the service left something to be desired. The waitress was clearly very busy; I stood in front of her at the counter for about a minute without being acknowledged. I only wanted to ask for a menu, but when she finally noticed me, she simply said it was already on the table or I can grab one from the wall. I was sitting at an outdoor table, and there was no menu there at all. Also, the two scones included in our afternoon tea set were noticeably smaller — at least 30% smaller — than the two scones served to the table next to us who ordered them à la carte. It just didn’t feel right; I had assumed they would be the same size. At the end, when I asked for a takeaway box for the cakes we couldn't finish, the waitress handed it to me without a word — not even a simple “here you go.” It felt oddly cold, as if we had somehow offended her without knowing it. We came hoping to relax and enjoy the afternoon, but left feeling a bit confused and uncomfortable. Perhaps better service could attract more customers. That said, we did notice there was no service charge included.

The place isn't the BEST, per se. The outside tables are kind of rickety plastic, and close to the outside areas was some resident's trash (the cute rose bush somewhat mollified any negative feelings towards the bag or resident). Nevertheless, the location on Royal Hill street is beautiful. It's a fantastically cozy street away from the hub-bub of the area around the greenwich market. The houses on the street are picturesque (despite the construction going on), you can see many families there. The food itself was actually very good, and they were very willing to adjust to any changes we wanted to make to what was on the menu. The prices, for london, were incredibly cheap. For two meals with extras, a coffee, a milkshake and fresh juice we paid 20 pounds. As a bonus, they offered different blends of coffees and were helpful in deciding to choose which one. So, for a nice weekend brunch that isn't too expensive I can easily recommend this place.

We really liked having breakfast at Royal Teas. We had fruit salad, salmon and eggs, avocado toast and huevos bravos. Everything delicious, good portions, fruit was fresh and really appreciated, juices as well really fresh and made at the moment; service was quick as well. We also bought some loose leaf earl grey tea, apple and lemon, and fennel. Can't wait to taste them at home. Very appreciated from my Italian parents that came to visit, they really appreciated that everything was fresh and the place was quite and welcoming. Definitely will be back to try the cakes, they have gluten free options as well.

The genuine truth is that words cannot express the joy of an experience in Royal Teas. From the getgo, we were greeted with nothing but kindness and consideration, memorably a wonderfully fashionable woman with fabulous hair who glided over immediately like some kind of heaven sent angel to guide us. I was lucky enough to catch her name as Silvia, props to her! As the undeniably greatest asset to the business, throughout our stay she tended to our EVERY NEED - I have never felt so cared for. Her very presence could have been enough to elevate the entire day, yet somehow things from there only escalated into greater realms of magnificence.

She kindly recommended the most divine, thick hot chocolate, an unregrettably luxurious beverage that I would propose you all order during your visit - it has legitimately altered my perspective on the value of life. The portions were gorgeously gargantuan (what a bargain!), every item a spectacle of both quantity and quality. I must give in particular a fond nod to the mouth wateringly succulent and indulgent banana and buttercream cake, a creation like nothing I have ever tasted before! After this, naturally, we couldn’t resist another splurge… After a “final” course we had both declared ourselves done, absolutely finished, yet within minutes found ourselves succumbing to temptation, ordering yet another plate, because how could one NOT when confronted with such edible glory? Soon to bless my mouth came the pesto, mozzarella, and plum tomato quesadilla. And boy was it good. Every bite was a sermon in flavour, every sniff a hymn of comfort - and the presentation was just the cherry on top.(or should i say plum tomato) The attention to detail throughout the cafe was impeccable, every nook and cranny a glorious exhibition bestowed upon our eyes. Shelves brimming with curiosities, corners glowing with charm, as though the interior decorator had been instructed to create nothing short of paradise. And the crockery—oh, the crockery! Splendid, excellently selected, each teacup and plate so perfectly suited to its purpose that i actually felt a pang of sadness at the thought of using my own mugs at home again.

All in all, i cannot fathom a single flaw. Royal Teas is less of a café and more of a pilgrimage—an absolute must. 1000/10, I am...

Had a wonderful Sunday morning breakfast with family. Food, coffee, juices we're great along with the friendly service even with a very full cafe. Loads of locals meet here, which is always a good sign and reflects the fairly priced menu. There's a small patio out front that catches the strong sun on clear summer mornings (yes, they do have those in London) but only 1 umbrella. Investing in one additional umbrella would be a plus. Overall I loved the Sunday morning experience. Returned on Tuesday morning to a mostly empty cafe but a very unfriendly server who really couldn't be bothered and was overwhelmed by the 6 guests present. It was more of a curt "what do you want" compared to the welcoming atmosphere of the weekend. I'd give 5 stars for Sunday and 1 star for Tuesday's experience, so an average of 3. Pick your day and hopefully management can take a more active roll in providing guidance and training, even in these early days of adjusting to the new...
