I found this place on open table, and I was looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary with my partner.
It is half an hour walk for us from Isle of Dogs. It is located in a very quiet and nice neighbourhood in Greenwich.
The restaurant is spacious, we didn’t see the outdoor area because it is cold and dark. It is quite spacious indoor. We were seated in the back of the restaurant. we arrived quite early around 6:30pm. It was quite empty when we arrived, so we were worried that if we made a good choice coming here.
There are many dishes from the menu, and they all look pretty good. Between two of us, we ordered three Tapas, calamari, chorizo, and bruschetta.
I was craving for steak so I picked the 400g Argentin steak, with Chimichurri sauce, grilled vegetable and chips. I ordered medium rare and it came perfectly. I can taste the burned fat with charcoal taste on the outside. It was tender and soft on the inside. A glass of Spanish house wine was perfect with the steak.
My partner ordered a Peruvian beef rice it somehow tastes a bit like Asian food, gingery.
At the end of the meal, we ordered an Argentine time style dessert called Alfajores. It is like two cookies with caramel in between like a sandwich. Yum!
The serving staff were very attentive and nice. Good service in general and we’ve got two desert wine at the end of the meal for free.
Menu could be found easily on their website and it is up today. We’ve got very stuffed and we were paying around...
Read moreOne of the first times dining in a restaurant since the pandemic and I have to commend the staff and team at this restaurant. Despite being after July 19th when most venues have relaxed all restrictions and precautionary measures, they kindly sat my group as far away from other diners as possible, at my request, setting up a table at the front just for us since it was too cold and wet to sit outside. The staff were masked, super courteous throughout and the perfect amount of attentive without feeling interruptive. The gentleman behind the bar was also lovely and made conversation with us from time to time. A really great experience. The food was also lovely, well presented and tasted good. Felt completely safe and at ease while dining. Would definitely come back for both the food and the service.
Thank you to all the staff working tonight, and the one who took my booking and humoured my many anxious questions about COVID precautionary measures in place. It was a very pleasant and comfortable dining experience under the circumstances where I know many people have different views regarding the COVID and how necessary certain precautions are, I appreciated so much that they accomodated us and respected our requests and we were able to celebrate a small family birthday this way.
Foodwise, I'd recommend the octopus and mushroom croquetas in particular. The fish cerviche was also...
Read moreThis was our first visit to this restaurant. It was a pleasant 15 minute uphill stroll from the Cutty Sark. Since we were a little early for our booking we went a few minutes further up the hill to appreciate the wonderful night time vista of the City. The restaurant is like a Mediterranean cantina with a taste of South America. The tables do not crowd out the room and the walls are decorated with Latin American paintings. It has a very nice ambience and is child-friendly with a separate children's menu.
My 5-star rating is based on the principle that this is an excellent example of a "cantina" with a good menu and well prepared food. The service was excellent and friendly. The pricing was st the upper end of cantinas and is fully justified.
Aside from the usual pizzas and tapas options there were some Argentine and other south American dishes. I chose an Argentine starter (chorizo) and main course (patarashka - sea bream steamed wrapped in banana leaf - see photo.) My wife had chicken in mushroom sauce. All very well prepared and enjoyed.
Nothing fancy, just a nice...
