My boyfriend and I came to Miro to spend New Yearās Eve here. When we arrived, we had to wait for 15 minutes to even speak to the person allocating the tables. We were told our table would be ready in 10 minutes and that we can wait at the bar. The bar was very crowded but the drinks were nice. After 20 minutes a waiter approached us and said that the chairs that we were sitting on by the bar were āreserved for guestsā and that we have to stand up. We told her that we as well are guests of the restaurant (what else would be be waiting by the bar?) and that weāve been waiting for our table for 20 minutes, after being told it would be ready in 10. After another 10 or 15 minutes we were seated at the table. We ordered food but even after one hour none of the food had arrived. Further no one asked if we wanted any more drinks or similar. We had to speak to multiple people to finally get some food on the table. They served the potatoes first, which are a side dish and were barely mediocre. When the Wagyu steak we had ordered came, we had to send it back immediately, as it was completely over cooked. Instead of accomodating us, one waiter came back with the overcooked meat and tried to explain to us that it was fine. Maybe itās worth mentioning here, that they charge Ā£200 for that meat, so I donāt think itās too much to ask for it to be cooked correctly. The last dish that came was the sushi, which was okey at the most. Visually it had nothing to do with āfancy diningā. After another 20 minutes we realised that none of the other food was going to come, nor would any of the waiters pay attention to us, so we went to the front desk and asked for the bill. At that point this restaurant somehow managed to get even worse. We were presented with a Ā£700 bill. Mind you, we only received 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of champagne, a side of potatoes, 6 pieces of sushi and the steak. We asked to amend the bill and they did, but after that the bill still came out wrong. The bill was amended again. We were apologised to, but I think this is the bare minimum that had to be done after this absolute disaster, especially keeping in mind that this is how my boyfriend and I spent New Yearās Eve. I donāt understand how this place has such good reviews, let alone even a single good review, since this is possibly the worst dining experience Iāve ever had and definitely the worst dining experience Iāve ever...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve personally havenāt left a restaurant feeling underwhelmed in a whileā¦
Iām a big fan of anything yellowtail⦠carpaccio, ceviche, I love it all! But this Himache just didnāt hit the spot, it didnāt melt in my mouth like the dish should do, it didnāt eat light or fresh either.
The Chicken Karage was described as sweet and spicy, it didnāt give crispy and it gave BBQ sauce instead which I hate so I sent it back.
The sushi⦠mediocre, for the price would have been better off at Wasabi. I struggled to finish it which was a strong indication I werenāt enjoying.
The SāMores? Not the best choice of marshmallow to serve, if Iām honest. Nice concept though.
Also ordered lemon sorbet, was so disappointing wasnāt even worth a photo⦠I got served lemon flavoured ice gloop in a glass for Ā£7. They insisted on bringing another serve but I was over it at this pointā¦.
I also want to point out the portion sizes⦠we ordered Edamame as you do⦠the tiniest bowl for £6 was disappointing for value.
Itās a shame because Iām very particular about choosing a birthday restaurant and wanted to give into a new business, but Iāll probably be hesitant doing so for an occasion going forward.
I do want to give a strong recommendation for their staff however, polite, informative and pleasant, they did well⦠but the food that came out the kitchen? ā¹ļø
I do want to applaud them however for making a nice stance on halal options! The inclusivity...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf youāre of the bland mediocre taste palette then this place is for you. The food was absolutely tasteless. Example, the potatoes which is the most basic dish to prepare was lacking salt. The service was not that great, they were bringing out singular dishes at a time rather than the starters collectively and the mains. Drinks were also slow. We were left twiddling our thumbs for a while. It was giving off amateur business style rather than a sophisticated establishment. It has a lot of potential but they need to work on their flavours and present an accurate reflection of the cuisine theyāre representing. Also focusing on their dishes as their USPs rather than pouring the majority of their focal point and creativity onto their drinks, which were the only things on the menu we actually liked. Their drink menu has more seasoning...
